A Stint Abroad
My friends and I decided to check out this restaurant for a late lunch. Unfortunately, they don’t let small groups like us make reservations online. So, we had to go there in person and wait in line for about 10-15 minutes. Funny enough, once we were finally seated, we noticed plenty of empty tables around.

If you’ve been to Din Tai Fung, you are familiar with soup dumplings. Paradise Dynasty takes things up a notch with larger amounts of soup and a slightly richer base. Their noodles are flavorful and their green beans spicy. The wok shrimp was basic but tender. I have since returned and enjoyed the dumplings the most. I would choose Paradise over Din every time. The wait can be long, so expect to wait unless you come off hours.

Great alternative to other restaurants in proximity. Wait can get tricky, but like other spots at SCP, just put your name/number and cruise the mall while you wait.

Located in the back of the Bloomingdale’s in the South Coast Plaza Shopping Mall, along with other restaurants and food stands.

Paradise Dynasty is a beautiful and spacious restaurant located conveniently inside South Coast Plaza. The restaurant serves a variety of tasty Singaporean and Chinese dishes, but their specialty is definitely the 8 flavored xiao long bao (soup dumplings), which are absolutely delicious.

Great spot for the hype and for their yummy food. It is located in South Coast Plaza which is so convenient to go. Very busy in the weekends, should drop name down and go shopping or join online waiting list to save the wait time.

Paradise dynasty needs to open up many more locations in LA. PD is such a breathe of fresh air compared to the tried and true soup dumplings of DTF.

First time and it was so good! It’s like Din Tai Fung but on another level. They had a lot of dishes on the menu and variety with vegan options too.

There was no wait for weekday lunch. The xiao long bao tasted better than DTF in my opinion. The chicken noodle soup was savory and delicious but the other dishes were just ok. We were disappointed with the fried rice, the rice was very hard, almost as if undercooked and portion was tiny. But would definitely come back for the steamed dumplings and try other ones too.
