Driving through and made plans to stop here on our way to Disney World. Not the same place from two years ago. I like the live music and patio seating however the customer service needs help. I love to see young adults working however it seemed to be ran by teenagers. Counted 7 teenagers working and the only person I saw of age was the the bartender. Many props to hiring young adults but I find it hard to see at this restaurant the value of good customer service. We had 4 different people tend to us repeating the same questions as the other person. Food was overpriced for the taste, seems to be priced for the live music or adult social gatherings. Years ago this was a great go to place when I was driving through. COVID-19 precautions are very lacks here and half the staff isn’t wearing mask. I enjoyed stopping here again, just wasn’t 5 stars like always. Keep hiring young adults but drive customer service as a passion.

Food, service, and atmosphere made for a beautiful evening. I’ve not tasted authentic Mexican food this good in a long time. From the manager to the cooks and wait staff ALL were perfect. The margaritas were strong and delicious. My girlfriend and I as well as her daughter will be back, SOON!

This place is not what I expected after reading the reviews. Ordered a shrimp avocado salad with a medium side of guacamole. Chips and salsa was included at no charge. The salsa had no flavor and almost tastes like there was a little sugar in it. Expected at least a slight chili of some sort and cilantro taste but it tasted straight tomato sauce.. I asked if they had spicier salsa and they did not, the waitress did however bring some fresh jalapeno to put in it. The guacamole was watery and lacked flavor. The shrimp salad was actually good but the season and cheese used did not fit the Mexican profile.

I used to visit their other Denham Springs location all of the time and usually had a consistently positive experience. However, I recently started visiting this location in the actual city of Denham Springs and have noticed a significant difference in customer service. The food is good, especially the brisket, but their service is inconsistent and sometimes abysmal. Tonight, my waitress literally smirked and made a sarcastic remark when the hostess told her that she had another table… Directly in front of me. I found this odd because I have always been polite to everyone at the restaurant and always leave a good tip. I can only assume that she wanted a large table where she thought she would get a larger tip even though she would have done quite well had she just provided good service to me. I’m in grad school for hospitality so I make it a point to reward good service. I ordered an unsweet tea and she brought out a sweet tea. When I politely brought it up and made a joke about it instead of trying to make her feel self-conscious, she gave me a blank look and acted as if she couldn’t care less. She messed up my actual order twice. I ordered a chili relleno meal and she only brought out the chili relleno with nothing else. I’ve attached a picture so you can see what the actual item description says. When I politely brought that up, she seemed confused then brought out the beans and rice. A few minutes later she suddenly became overly attentive in a passive-aggressive effort to get me to hurry up and leave. The restaurant closes at 10:30pm and this was around 10:05pm. When she brought out the check, she charged me full price for the chili relleno meal PLUS an additional $4.50 for the beans and rice that should have been included. I had to spend an extra 10 minutes finding someone to correct this because she suddenly disappeared and didn’t want to come back. I eventually flagged down a hostess and had her locate a manager who was able to take care of it. This type of service is not good. In fact, I don’t know if I will be back to this restaurant again anytime soon since there are several other Mexican restaurants within a mile or two up here such as Maria’s, Sarita’s, El Rancho and La Carreta. Believe it or not, I actually don’t expect much from servers other than having manners, getting my order correct, and making sure that my drink is refill periodically. So for someone to do that poorly says a lot. Hopefully, this young lady was just having a bad day, but I can’t help but wonder if she simply treated ME this way. I noticed her goofing off with her friends at work several times and she didn’t seem to have the same attitude as she did with her customer. She could have provided a quality experience and ended up being compensated accordingly. Instead, she created her own negative environment and self-fulfilling prophecy.

They were busy and our waitress was flustered. We had to wait for drinks and for our order to be taken. Then it took another hour to get our food. We didn’t mind having to wait but when we got our food it was terrible. My daughter ordered shrimp quesadillas. The shrimp were rotten and my daughter ended up getting sick. I ordered a steak taco salad. The steak was gray and slimy. The manager was very apologetic and nice.

The food was amazing ….back story….my husband and are basically stranded after our car got broken into and our wallets and all cash was taken while we were at work.(We live in our vehicle by the way)No money no cards no IDs NOTHING. This restaurant provided us a hot meal and gracious service. We were starving literally hadn’t eaten all day and they opened there hearts and doors for us. Seated us and served us as if we were paying customers. I will definitely be paying back their generosity when we are back on out feet!!!!! Thank Yalllll and God Bless.
