My brother ordered a pizza on a Sunday late afternoon & I was sopposed to pick it up between 9:45-9:50pm thinking they closed @11pm as I was arriving someone walked out @10:08 pm with their order & door closed, it was locked and I couldn’t get in so I knocked on window as 2 men were cleaning & they totally ignored me purposely which I understand it was closing time but they could of handled it differently by giving me my order & letting me know how I’m sure they did with the guy that walked out seconds before me since they were still there “hey you got lucky we’re still here, here’s your order have a great night”.

The pizza and wings always come out great but the cheesesticks are hit or miss. Sometimes the dough bubbles up so bad that all the cheese falls off like in the picture. They have awesome customer service though!

I purchased a barbeque sauce pizza from Papa John’s on 19th Street in Costa Mesa and noticed that the pizza was soaked in barbeque sauce (see picture) and I could not eat it. I returned the pizza and the girl behind the counter indicated she was the manager. When I asked her for a refund or an exchange she would not give me one. When I asked her for the name of her supervisor she called the police and they came. Is it the practice of Papa John’s now to call the police if you have a complaint or want to return a $6.00 pizza? I will never return to purchase another pizza from Papa John’s from anywhere and neither will any of my friends and family.

Don’t know what it is about this particular. Papa John’s, but their pizzas and food seems to be prepared and cooked above average compared to other Papa John’s. The service is good, and the interactions I have with the employees are always appreciated. Usually come here a couple times a month because of that.

Speaking from previous experience, I don’t recommend going here if you’re using a Groupon coupon. I had already paid in advance for my pizzas on Groupon, so I called here to place my order and confirm if I could pay using the Groupon coupon (redeemable for 1 pizza each). The employee on the phone was hesitant but gave me a yes… when I went to pick up the food, I showed the Groupon coupon, but the cashier didn’t know how to apply it. At her request, I “redeemed” coupon on my phone, but she still didn’t know what to do. She went to the back, assumingly to ask someone else, came back and said she can’t apply the coupon, that I’d have to pay for the pizzas. I refused, since the coupons I had were redeemable for each pizza I ordered. I asked for the cashier to ask anyone else or to call over a supervisor , because she genuinely had no idea what to do. She replied that the supervisor was not in. So she repeated that my only option was to pay for the pizzas, obviously not use the Groupon coupons, and possibly use them another time (ignoring that she had just asked me to mark it as redeemed on my app, so that wasn’t even an option). This was going to be my first time trying to Papa John’s, and I was left disappointed. Even more disappointing was that I reached out to the company and branch through calls and an online form, since I had already “redeemed” the coupon and basically paid for good that I never received, and was never contacted back.
