Want the best Mexican food this side of the border? Eat here. The freshest ingredients, excellent flavor and the staff is busy but attentive and they work well together. I’ve eaten in a lot of Mexican restaurants in Alaska and Pancho’s Villa is the BEST. Love this place.

Food and service was great! First time dining at Panchos and we were not disappointed. We didn’t have time to take photos of the other dishes we ordered. The smell was so good and we were super hungry when the food got served. Nice environment and beautiful yet simple Mexican decor. If you love Mexican, check the place out.

Hands down best Margaritas I’ve had in anchorage. I did get top shelf liquor but there was almost a vanilla taste. So good! Based on the reviews I was hoping the food would be better…we didn’t think the food was that great. But the Margaritas!

The food and service here are very good. I judge Mexican restaurants off of the refried beans and corn tortillas. Both are great here. We have ordered the fajitas on two different occasions and the steak/chicken/shrimp fajitas only come with 3 shrimp. They are delicious. But, just know this. Also, bring cash. There is a 4% increase if paying with card. I’d give the place 5 stars, if the prices were a little better. But, it is the best Mexican in Anchorage.

It was our first time dining at Pancho’s, and we were pleased with our experience. The Sampler gave us the opportunity to sample a variety of appetizers. I had the chimichanga, and it was hearty. The Tostada was delicious. The house margaritas were tasty. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere pleasant.

It took FOREVER to get seated (over an hour) even though our dinner party host called ahead days in advance! The service was friendly but also very slow in getting around to taking our orders. However, once our orders were placed, the food took the normal amount of time to be served. We only had 10 people in our group, so we’ll never go there again to celebrate. It’s probably OK for a smaller group of 2 or 4, meaning, you’ll probably get seated quicker. But I suspect service will still be slow in getting one’s order placed!

Beware! This is not authentic Mexican food and they overcharge. They use Walmart tortillas and they do a bad job with chopping the veggies. I had an entire lettuce leaf on my plate. The fajitas were just basic tasting and disappointing. They also charge for onions and lime without letting us know and they also charge $3 extra if you don’t pay the check with cash. We had a coupon for buy 1 meal get one free. But you have to pay $4 for 2 drinks. Not worth it with the extra charges. I will not be coming back here.
