I was excited to try this location of Palmetto — I’ve been to every other location so far and loved each one, but unfortunately I could not say the same about this one. The acai definitely tasted different — a bit more watery and the flavor was significantly weaker compared to the other locations’ acai, which made the entire experience significantly less enjoyable. The people that I had this with were in agreement as well. They do seem a bit understaffed as there was only one person working for the majority of the time that I was there.

It was fun going to the soft opening of Palmetto Superfoods in Burlingame (there are other locations in the Metreon, on Union Street, and on Clement Street in San Francisco, with another planned for Santana Row). I learned a lot by speaking with the super friendly and deservedly-proud owner.

I am a Palmetto fan! I’ve been to Palmetto Inner Richmond and Cow Hollow in San Francisco M-a-n-y times. When I discovered Palmetto’s Burlingame shop, I was super happy. It’s huge compared to the City shops. I ordered a custom smoothie with everything I love. It was delicious! Another day I got a custom acai bowl…eat a rainbow of food. It’s great to get fresh fruit and add ins that taste good and are healthy too.

I love their acai bowl but i ordered a pickup of a smoothie and a bowl. They put the smoothie inside the paper bag without taping the opening and it spilled and leaked all over the inside of the paper bag which obviously made a hole in the paper bag and leaked all over my car. Come on, man….it’s common sense to tape the opening if you’re gonna put the smoothie in a closed paper bag. Wasted my $9 smoothie and had to clean my car out. Ridiculous.

I ordered via DoorDash for a group of 10 people and we were extremely satisfied with our açaí bowls. We all chose to build our own bowls. The customization options are plentiful and all delicious. They traveled well and felt reasonably priced considering how much food we got!

Açaí seems old and poor quality. It tasted watered down. When I scooped the açaí, I could see a lot of bubbles. It seems like they mixed too much ice with the açaí. I asked for peanut butter and almond butter but they gave very little and I couldn’t taste it. We were the only customers but one of the cashiers was chatting with her friend so our order took a while. They were too noisy so we decided to eat on the benches outside instead.
