Tried Palermo’s for the first time after reading positive reviews. Ordered several pizzas with different crusts and toppings. As others have mentioned, the sauce is definitely on the sweet side, but still good. We went with one paper thin and one regular thin crust. Neither are as thin as tavern style, but we did prefer the paper thin. More chewy than crisp. Service was good, and the complimentary lemon sorbet was a nice touch.

I had called to order delivery of a margarita pizza and the “calamari dinner”. The pizza was definitely delicious, BUT the $15+ calamari dinner was nothing but barely a handful calamari on top of a bunch of fries. Also, a small fly flew out when I opened it. When I originally placed the order, I was told that the dinner comes with more calamari than the appetizer. So, when I called to complain about this, the “manager” explained to me that this is intentional because calamari is expensive. When I paused for a moment out of shock, he said “is there something I can do for you because this is wasting my time.” I’ll definitely not be ordering from here again.

Amazing food and fantastic service! If you are in Chicago I would highly recommend you dropping buy! Will be going again on my next visit. Pizza bread appetizer melts in the mouth, chicken Alfredo is simply devine, service is second to none, our server was friendly and helpful without being in your face but always there when needed.

The best lobster ravioli I have ever had in my life. This is by far the best traditional pizza I have ever eaten. I had to go to Chicago to get it. The owner should open up a spot in Houston.

We came here after the original restaurant we wanted to eat at was full and didnt wanna go to some tourist trap downtown. You know you’ve struck gold when you find an old Italian restaurant owned by the same guy since its inception decades ago and he comes out and greets his patrions, thick accent and all! The interior is old and vintage (adds to the charm!) and the walls are full of autographed photos of random and obscure Bears players and celebrities who have dined here through the years. The food is amazing!! So worth driving a half hour out of the way for. He also gave us the bill on a hand written ticket and gave us free dessert. this is everything I could ever want in a restaurant. This is exactly how it should be done.

The sauce is very sweet. I could enjoy that as a change of pace, I guess. The restaurant was dirty and had the ambience of a nursing home. Our server was nice, but there was an overall strange vibe. It felt like the before segment to a Bar Rescue episode.

This place would be a perfect candidate for the TV show Kitchen Nightmares. Nothing tasted like it was made fresh or from scratch and yet they charge amounts comparable to places that do. Our dishes tasted horrible. The dining room is musty, run down and out of date. The only thing good was the scoop of spumoni ice cream at the end of the meal.

I went to pick up a pizza and was left wondering why the pick up spot was so dirty? It was dusty and grimy and made me wonder if this is an area that I can see what is hiding in the kitchen?! A good cleaning of this place is greatly needed. I can’t make myself order from there again. And $45 for a large 3 ingredient pizza seems steep.

The restaurant has a 60s vibe that has stayed along since it’s inception but the owner is such a kind person and everyone working treats you like family. The pizza has a crispy crust with a sweet sauce. Some might not prefer sweet sauce but I do and it was great!
