After living in Japan for the past 9 years, I can confidently say that Oyama has some of the best sushi you’ll find in Colorado. After 3 visits (driving into the mountains, I’m not exactly local) I’ve had some fantastic sushi, sashimi, and rolls. The standard fare is fresh and well-made, but their specialty items are amazing. The Veggie menu stands by itself with the AMC, Mixed Vegetable Roll, and more. It’s clear that the staff and chefs care about their job. Keep up the awesome work!!

Stopped in for a late lunch on route to Denver. They have Lunch Specials for the weekend! Best salmon skin roll I’ve had all year – in my 3 roll lunch special. My hubby had the Pork Katsu lunch special. Very pleased with the prices, quality and service!

I eat here all the time, and every time is amazing! I absolutely love the food. Everything is fresh and timely. I’ve ordered to go and stayed for dinner on multiple occasions. All of my experiences so far have been wonderful! The service and food are absolutely worth every penny. ^_^

Not a bad place to grab some ramen or some sushi. I’ve been a few times now and it’s never disappointed. Definitely hits the spot for Japanese cuisine. Lucky to have this place up here for the locals to get something different. Just wish there was more seating. The wait can be long but that is expected if the food is really good. Definitely will be going back for more!

Very kind staff. Very expensive subpar sushi and rolls. Ordered some sashimi (mackarel, yellow fin), tuna was ok, mackarel was dry and so sad. Rolls for the niece’s birthday. So small, so sad. But hey, she loved it! Walked away having eaten very little, having spent $120 for two, and having to deal with stomach issues that night.

I recently went to Hawaii and got some top shelf sushi and it didn’t hold a candle to Oyama’s. There was a special for blue fin and it was literal melt in your mouth perfection, it was a piece of heaven in my mouth. I will be back here very soon. Worth every penny!

Great spot, great staff, great food! Not expecting amazing sushi in a mountain town but they really do deliver and are consistent. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend trying it out.

My wife and I saw there was a sushi place 40 mins from our camp so we decided to check it out and were really looking forward to it. Food and spot looked amazing. Unfortunately, we waited at the host stand for more than 5 mins. There was only a 1 top and 3 top table eating while we were waiting. When our server sat us, she gave us menus and brought out waters and boom that’s it. Never came to us again. Instead all of the workers were eating right in front of us. They were all laughing having a good time, our server literally had food coming out of her mouth. We sat there for 15 minutes and then went to the place across the parking lot. If the entire staff is going to be eating taking a break during service, then don’t be open during service.

We both had Tonkatsu ramen.. the broth is one of the best we have had. They lost a star because the edamame wasn’t cook properly.. still raw on the inside and they still charged us for it. Will definitely go back for the Ramen and try out the sushi next time.
