I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Outpost, and let me tell you, it was an extraordinary experience! Our server, Heidi was our server and she was excellent. To start off my culinary expedition, I opted for the Diablo burger, a veritable masterpiece infused with jalapeno and topped with the delightful and scrumptious pepper jack cheese. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me in awe of the culinary wizardry at play.

Great food and even better staff! Stopped through on a road trip and sat at the bar. The bartender was nicer than most, the beer was cold, and the food was great. Highly recommend! Don’t forget to tip your servers well!

We had several meals at the Outpost. The food was always great. The service was good, but not excellent. But, there was a motorcycle rally happening the week we were in John Day. So, the restaurant was very busy. We thought the prices were very good too. Also, the peanut butter cream pie was awesome.

It was great to be able to walk from our hotel to The Outpost for dinner. The service was fast and friendly. The menu has a great variety of choices. I had one of their specialties, Alice Chicken, which was unique and very good. They have homemade ice cream and a whole variety of good deserts. Definitely a find.

Ordered burgers. They had gluten free hamburger buns!!! So happy. Fries and ranch. We ordered long Island ice teas- not the best at all. Server was short handed but did a great job. Clean place. They also sold clothes and nick nacks.

Cathy was our server. She impressed us so much the first night with her top notch service we had to return the second night. She didn’t fail us.

Great service with a smile . Attached to restaurant is Little boutique clothing store with stylish clothes . This place has hometown cooking and large portions . Exactly what is expected in John Day . Great local stop .

So disappointing today. We always go here when we are in town. For is usually fantastic. Fries were old. Waitress must have been overwhelmed because we had to remind her of everything. Never did receive the bill so had to ask at the front so we could go.

This place is right around the corner from the Best Western Hotel. Very easy walking to it. The food was good and service was as well. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the baked potato soup was a little too watered down.

My family and I were in town for my mom’s funeral. Spent 3 days there. Ate almost every meal there. The evening after the service we all went there to eat. They were very busy but we were in no hurry. We put a couple of tables together in the bar and ordered food and drinks. Food was good. We ordered another round of drinks talked and ate. My brother got a little emotional as we were talking about my mom. We were going to have one more round of drinks before we left. Bar tender told us that because my brother was emotional we were all cut off. We tried to explain the reason behind it and it did not matter he gave us all our checks and said it was better that we leave. We were not loud and were not causing any problems. Others around us were very loud and using offensive language but we were the ones that had to leave. I was very disappointed in the way were treated as we had spent a good sum of money there over the few days we were there. When we are in town I will never go back there. We were treated very unfairly.
