Trying out this Outback Steakhouse in Salinas while I’m in California. Had the Sirloin and fries and it was pretty good. Waitress and everybody else was nice and friendly. This seems to be a pretty good location.

Really bad, been to other outbacks that were good, but this one was poor all around. Bad service, waiter was hard to find even with the blinking call waiter sign on table. Menu items were not what was in picture. Missing chives, missing the sauce for crab cakes. Brought us the wrong drink and took forever to get a refil of my water. If I were outback steakhouse I would be revoking their franchise because they are not doing good by your name. You can see in my pictures of menu and the sauce for the crab cakes it is not the same thing.

The restaurant was near empty when arrived yet the table sat me was dirty. Spent $35. For a fish that was platted with nothing else, garden salad side, and an appetizer. Beverage. Nothing else. Had 4 different people serve me but nothing was done properly.

Food was great. Service was excellent. I ordered the 13 oz. rib eye (medium rare) with a sweet potato and coconut shrimp and a small side of steakhouse mac and cheese. It was delicious! The atmosphere was calm, sports playing on the tv. Cool and relaxing.

We hadn’t been to an Outback for a while probably around 6-7 years so we decided to go. We got there around 8:10 pm on a Tuesday. It was not crowded and we were seated very quickly. The Waiter came promptly and took our drink orders. as we talked and waited. 5 min. 10 min. and then some more. By this time there was only us (2) and one other table of 4.. We sat back to back in the Bar area. Finally our drinks arrived. I ordered a Strawberry Lemonade and my friend had a bottled beer.The Waiter then took our order, and brought some bread. I ordered the Surf and Sand which was a small steak and a skewer of broiled shrimp. My friend ordered the Salmon. And we waited. The other table had their dinner so they were fine. We waited some more. I heard someone from the kitchen say “Order” twice but the waiter was not in site. Finally the Bartender brought our food. it was now 9:12pm The shrimp was very tasty and my friend enjoyed the Salmon. My steak was tough though ,so I brought it home. The baked potato was also very good but cold and the bottom had a large rotted black spot . which was not edible So I actually got a 1/2 of a potato. It was not all bad but for the price we paid, I probably wont go back. We don’t go out often so when we do it is a treat for us.

Not bad, but not amazing either. Price is fair for what you get, but I was not blown away either. Service was nice, friendly and on point while I dined, so that was a major plus in my book. The food was average though, but tasty and enjoyable. It wasn’t anything above and above beyond however, so maybe I came in at the wrong time or perhaps next visit will be better. Only time will tell.

We had some issues with the food, but our server Garrett was wonderful. Very attentive, he talked to his manager Evelyn I think was her name and she fixed for us what he couldn’t. Overall it ended up being a great experience. The generally not a fan of Outback anyhow, and the food solidifies that but the service and management makes me give them 4 stars!

Good experience here even with a new server. Our food was prepared correctly. The only thing was everything came out at once but no one specified. Normally I would want my salad out first and the baked potatoes were mixed up with the orders but the server was new and did great for our large party. Overall very pleased. Friendly staff and the place was clean.
