Overall, the food was not good. The food was cold. The nachos were very soggy and had limited toppings. It felt like the liquid from a can of chili was dropped on them and sat for several minutes. The wings were primarily breading. Service was alright, they were friendly. It was not very busy, but it sounded like the chef was feeling overwhelmed. I’m not sure why, but it also felt very smokey and stuffy. Maybe it was a bad day, but I probably won’t be going back considering the price and poor quality.

I absolutely love the fried baloney sandwich. And it’s a great place to eat when it’s warm outside. The ambience is great. The only negative is it seems like the place is understaffed.

We were greeted immediately upon walking in the door and asked to sit anywhere we liked. We had the whole area to ourselves as everyone else was choosing to sit outdoors. It took several minutes for the waitress to come over but after that she was very efficient. The decor was mainly historical photos mixed with some sports paraphernalia. The outdoor patio was absolutely beautiful. Our food arrived quickly and it was just as amazing as the waitress said it would be. I had the pub burger and fries. A nice burger with mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses and bacon and a fried egg topped with lettuce, tomato and onion. My partner had their signature sandwich of fried bologna. Thick sliced bologna with pepper jack cheese, pickles and onions. The fries were a thicker natural cut, fried to a crispy doneness and topped with coarse salt. Best fries that I’ve had in awhile. If we go back to Hilliard anytime, we’ll be stopping in again.

Our server, Victoria, was courteous and helpful. Unfortunately for her, she was one of the only servers there on a very busy Thursday night. With the concert outside it was extremely busy. The bar was fully staffed but she was running from the patio to the dining room to our high top. She did the very best she could. We never saw a manager…not a good look. So service gets 3 stars- not for her but for management.

Would not recommend Otie’s to anyone in the Hilliard or Columbus area. Went in before a wedding reception that was nearby expecting a quick bite and friendly service. Was not the case at all. First, we walked through the whole restaurant and back looking to be seated until the bartender haphazardly pointed at a table to us. Walked over, said “what do ya want” (In a rude, not midwestern nice way). And we said, “well let’s start with some menus and water please.” Shortly after, she came back with the menus and water basically tossing them on the table at us. That was our last interaction with any employee for the rest of the evening. We sat for 15-20 minutes, with the place nearly empty at 5 pm on a Saturday just waiting for some help taking our order! There were multiple employees standing around on their phones, and when I tried to wave them over to our table and calling out politely, our table was still ignored. Shocked, we got up and walked out without saying a word, finishing all of our waters. Went to the Crooked Can brewing co. next door and had an amazing time. If you’re in the area, go there instead of Otie’s.

Awesome very old building in the middle of downtown hilliard. One of the best Fried Bologna sandwiches in central Ohio. Hand made tots!! Perfectly fried, light and fluffy. Great specials during the week. Easily one of the best and most beautiful patios in the area. Huge water wall. Huge new addition event space.

Clearly I’m getting old because it was loud enough I had to scream to talk with my friends and now my throat hurts! Food was good, but for my 2 takeout burgers and fries, we got a single ketchup packet. One. ♀️ I asked for an ice water and had to ask a few times before I got it, but they were busy and probably short staffed, so I tried to be gracious, despite having tipped well on the carryout. All in all, we were able to reserve room for all of us in a Friday night, so props to them for that!

A little strange how they have two different menus with different items, but besides that it was pretty good!

Food is decent. This place could be such a nice spot in Old Hilliard, but it’s poorly run and poorly managed. It’s almost always empty. Scheduled a private event there and they were unable to give me a singular point of contact throughout the planning process. Additionally, I had the date & time originally confirmed for my event by a manager and another employee, but when we walked in on the actual day of the party they did not know we were coming. They also told us we could have a room that we wanted, only to back down from that request once I followed up to confirm.

Had the fried bologna sandwich! It lived up to the hype! I will be back! Great food and great service and full of nostalgia! Fond memories of walking around Hilliard with my Grandpa in the 70’s!
