A cornerstone of Seattle’s dining scene since 1998, la Spiga is renowned for its authentic, northern Italian cuisine, a gastronomic tribute to Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. Executive Chef, Sabrina Tinsley, updates the menus seasonally, uses only the finest Italian ingredients, and seeks out what is freshest in local markets. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food warms the soul. As co-founder and host Pietro Borghesi says, “An evening at la Spiga is like dining in Italy — without the plane fare.”
Chef Tinsley was a contender on Iron Chef and has been featured on television, radio and in print. In Nov. 2022, she opened la Dispensa, a gourmet Italian market and deli offering many la Spiga favorites and more for enjoying at home.

Great environment – spacious with good vibe, for dating as the live jazz piano and singing was a huge plus! Food-wise is good but not like amazing, with a wide selection of pasta , desserts , and drinks. Maybe we just didn’t order the right stuff while I had a really high expectation.

Good Italian food in a beautiful space. Excellent for gluten-free (GF) folks with a lot of GF options, including GF pasta).

I’m not a big pasta fan to begin with so I ordered their chefs special “STORIONE CON SALSA MEDITERRANEA”. While it was tasty, I felt like it was way overpriced for $34. The fish was over cooked and tough. It wasn’t anything I couldn’t make at home. I tried some of my friend’s pasta dish, and it wasn’t anything special, but again, I’m not big on pasta. The seating by the sidewalk was great for a nice breeze and people watching. The service was great and very friendly+smiley.

I was looking for Italian tonight and walked into la Spiga. If you haven’t been here, you are missing out. The Gnocchetti was incredible! The Iuli Barbera was excellent. I’m not a desert guy but the 1980 Kopke Port was a perfect end to a wonderful meal. The staff was friendly, fun and attentive. The restaurant is spacious yet comfortable.

This is a top tier option for vegan Italian food in the country. It doesn’t rely on vegan cheese, but good quality olive oil, herbs and vegetables. There is atleast one vegan and one vegetarian option in each section of the menu. The casserole was favorite; a little expensive, but very hearty, healthy and comforting.

Osteria La Spiga is an Italian restaurant with good food and amazing service. The flavors of the dishes were delightful, showcasing the authenticity of Italian cuisine. The attentive staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. However, the atmosphere was disappointingly loud, making it difficult to hold conversations comfortably. Furthermore, our table, located on the left side of the restaurant, seemed to be constantly vibrating, akin to being on a train. Despite these drawbacks, the overall quality of the food and service was commendable.
