The name “Osito” means little bear. It comes from the nickname the kitchen staff gave Chef & Owner Bobby describing his take-charge attitude when working the kitchen line.

Ositos will let you know upfront, on their website & on their front door that their take is southern. And you will definitely confirm that going through their menu. They serve tacos & tortas, and they are confident that they do it well. If you are a “taco purist ” save your time, unless you are willing to have an open mind (and stomach). No servers but yet they constantly check on your table. Tacos look like art pieces and flavors are bold. A good thing that they are not in Charlotte, for I am sure that it will be impossible to get a table. Amazing place.

Very unique! Lots of fusion with Southern cuisine, such as tacos featuring pimento cheese, corn dogs, fried green tomatoes, etc. The tomato rice was very good as a side and the Hoss was the best taco I tried. Also tortas and some other items as well as an extensive selection of refrigerated drinks. Fun decor in the dining area.

For $15 you would expect to get a large burrito, but their “Bear-ritto” only fills up about 2/3 of an 8-9” long container as shown in the pic so I didn’t feel like there was value for the price considering it is mostly beans and rice with a little meat. Also, as far as quality and taste I would rate it as mediocre.

Really great tacos and a big choice of appetizers. The tacos are much bigger than they look and an appetizer plus one or two was plenty to eat. The restaurant can get a bit loud given it small size but it was a good atmosphere and definitely worth a visit if you want to try out some interesting tacos along with a few specialty cocktails.

Awesome food! Such a nice variety and amazing portion sizes. Usually $4.50 tacos like this are empty and have no meat. These tacos were so full I had to eat half of them with chips so I could eat them. Hands down one if the better gormet taco spots I’ve been to around the Charlotte area. 10/10 will come back again to explore more of the menu.

Just left here and not only was the staff kind, the food was DELICIOUS! We got 4 different types of tacos and the nachos. The nachos were hands down one of the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to return!
