Located smack in the heart of downtown Libertyville, Oscar Lee’s Barbecue gives meat the slow, smoky love it deserves. Chef Lee Kuebler’s flirtation with central Texas-style barbecue has flowered into a full-blown obsession with tender prime brisket, juicy pulled pork and ribs so delicate they’re barely clinging to the bone.
Based on 113 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.6 stars. Price

Food was good. The menu is limited, but everything we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. The fish fry was great, however I wish they would serve more than 2 pieces. The beef fat fries were great. The baked potato was good. They have a good beer list and several drinks available. Parking is available on the street or a lot nearby. Prices are fair and on par with restaurants in the area. Restaurant is clean. I would recommend this spot.

New modern space for tasty Texas style BBQ. Smoked turkey my be some of the best we had ever had. Brisket was also good. More pepper flavor than smoke in a good way. Got small size in sides and they were very large! Good friendly service and hardly any wait for food. We will be coming back for sure.

Great BBQ, great service, fair prices and good portions. Recommend trying Ramen and rotating burgers on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I have a high standard for barbecue and Oscar Lee’s satisfies. Turkey, pulled pork, brisket all excellent. Tons of flavor and a nice seasoning and smoke. Sauce selections are decent.. the jalapeño Apple is so good I could put it on my cereal!! Friendly service as well and a good ‘make the customer happy’ attitude which is rare. Potato salad was lacking but everything else was GREAT.

Everything on the entire menu is great! The desserts are so simple but don’t be fooled, they’re amazing.

Have been here two times in the past weeks and I have loved it each time. I ordered the sampler to taste everything they offer and I was beyond impressed. The server Adam also was amazing because each time we were there he was running the whole floor by himself, even though it was crowded. He also rememberers what I had ordered from the past week I was there. 99/10. Definitely going to eat again.

My wife and I had a great lunch here. We shared a brisket sandwich and full rack of ribs. The sandwich was delicious, and the rib plate was plentiful. There was no way for us to finish all of the ribs at one sitting. The smoky flavor is tasty and subtle, not overwhelming and powerful. If you like to be blasted by a smoky flavor, this might not be the place for you. But if you prefer some nuance to your brisket or ribs, then this is a great choice.

Small but friendly Q joint with a limited menu, especially sides, but good quality. The brisket looks great, tastes good, and the beef fat fries are top notch. The Texas sweet sauce is more peppery than it should be (just call it KC sauce) but the mustard sauce takes the prize.

Delicious barbeque – sampler platter was phenomenal, mac and cheese not so much. Small menu, nice ambiance. No kids menu. While there is no outdoor seating, has a roll up door that allows plenty of fresh air in.
