The food from the restaurant was pretty good. I had ordered the brillia tacos and chicken tortilla soup for take out a few days ago and the bartender was super friendly and humorous while I waited in the lobby.

The food was very good and our service was great. We had a couple cocktails and then I had the shrimp and grits and my friend had the short ribs. Overall, a good choice for dinner.

We came for Valentines dinner..the food was not worth the 55.00. The wait for dinner was over an hour. The waitress said they kept forgetting about her section. We had to chase someone down for salad dressing. They did comp 6 strawberries. Then we received the check..36.36% gratuity automatically added PER PERSON..the check said 18%!! 40.00 GRATUITY FOR 110.00 BILL. INSANE!! They are poking your eyes out!! How many people were scammed tonight.

We have stayed at the Emily Morgan on numerous occasions but have never eaten at the restaurant until recently. I can’t say it was bad but I also can’t say it was great either. My husband said his ribeye was cooked perfectly but when you order a steak in Texas it’s not supposed to have some kind of sauce on it. It was also supposed to come with asparagus and fingerling potatos but instead came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. My salmon was cooked right but had no flavor and neither did the fried brussel sprouts, no seasoning at all. The biggest thing that surprised me was that when you order $15 Double Strawberry Ice Cream you expect this amazing dessert but instead you get a pint of Blue Bunny. And the same thing with the chocolate cake, it was $15 and a sliver of cake. Just not what I was expecting from a restaurant like this. Will no eat there again.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Warning, go somewhere else. I went on a last minute trip to the hotel and tried the resturant after reading the review, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. This is the worst food, no taste, and not portioned properly. I get that food may be bland but this food tasted like it was warmed in the microwave. Our service by (Veronica) was very professional and helped any way she could with the horrible food that was prepared. I spent 90 dollars for a meal that was not edible. Will not be going back EVER and will not even waste my money on the breakfast. Not expecting high standards but for the food to be edible. If you claim to be a 5 star hotel then give the standards for a 5 star hotel. Rainforest Cafe is a few minutes away from hotel, their food is amazing.

First time here for dinner last night and Restaurant Week. Not too many people for a Saturday. I was very happy with my choices – fried Oaxaca cheese, grilled Texas quail and forest fruit cake. My husband had the grouper and the portion was a bit small. Slightly overcooked. Sister in law had the short ribs and she seemed to enjoy. I did think it was a bit dry.

We’re staying at the Emily Morgan hotel, so we’ve been here a few times now. Breakfast buffet serves its purpose. Nothing special but edible and filling. Dinner, though, is another story. Dinner was soooo good. We got everything from salads to sammiches to short ribs and it was all good. The drinks were great and cookie skillet was perfect for sharing! Server wasn’t so sure about us at first, but she figured us out pretty quickly. (Large group of heavy drinkers–we’re fun and responsible, not annoying and obnoxious.) She got answers to questions she didn’t know instead of pretending to have the answers then leaving us disappointed. My only complaint about this restaurant is the lighting. Why so dark? Some pin spot lighting would go a long way. I’m always leary of hotel restaurants bc I find them over priced and disappointing quality, but I would definitely recommend checking out this historic property and grabbing dinner here after your Alamo visit.

Had a great Happy Hour All Day event with my team(16) and we all enjoyed the half price appetizers. The mixed drinks are made really well and strong, too. The bar is setup nicely with a row booths along one wall.

Disappointed…stood at the entrance waited to be seated, but no one came so we left.

Food was great! Service was remarkable! Even though she didn’t have wait staff, the bartender still sat our party of 7 and made sure we were well taken care of! We had already been turned away from 4 or 5 restaurants that night and were grateful for the hospitality shown to us.
