Orient Express is amazing. I went there for the first time yesterday and I was blown away by the food. It also labels vegan options clearly which is great. I got the Scallion pancake with curry sauce which was the best Scallion pancake I’ve ever had. It was freshly fried, and super flaky. The curry sauce was very good and flavorful. The fried tofu appetizer was delicious. It was so fresh and the outside reminded me of a donut because it was just a tiny bit sweet. The dipping sauce was also great and the tofu went with it perfectly. The Ma Po tofu was fantastic. It was exactly what I wanted. It was hot, spicy (but not unbearably so), and flavorful. I absolutely loved it. New favorite place in Oakland. Can’t recommend Orient Express enough. Especially for vegans who are looking for a place to go with non vegans. It was also very affordable.

Ever since I tried the food at Orient Express I have been hooked! I can’t wait to go back! The Dry Basil stir fry is amazing! The taste of the salt pepper basil chicken is a flavor I could live on for rest of my life! I can not say enough good things about this place!

They were closed randomly a couple days ago but the only posting for that closure was on their front door. Nothing online or on the phone, so the phones just rang and rang and wasted my time. A shame because their food is good and their workers are kind, but this experience was rather poor and hurt their rating for me.

We were super hungry after leaving the museum of natural history and wanted something quick to go and this place was right around the corner. I was super hesitant to come here due to the horrible Yelp reviews but glad I gave this place a shot. Ordered 4 of their lunch special menu which comes with your choice of dish, your choice of white or soy sauce rice, and your choice of chicken teriyaki or fried spring roll. We got the garlic chicken, hunan tofu, sweet and sour chicken and beef Lomein. Everything was actually pretty decent for Americanized Chinese food standard. Sure it wasn’t great and was loaded with salt, grease and most likely MSG but the food came out super quick, hot and may I add, cheap. It was a win for us.

This was my first time and what I ordered off the broad and interesting menu came with some sizeable portions. The satay pork here is *jam-packed* with veggies which is always great. The guy at the counter helped me put this order together as well which was really cool.

I went to Orient Express with my family today and was so impressed with the food. We just couldn’t stop raving about how good it was! We each ordered a different dish and each was exceptional in its own! Not to mention the bubble tea.. Yum yum!! By far the best Chinese food we have ever gotten. (And we eat it a lot) We will be making a trip back to Pittsburgh just to eat here again!
