The Chop House burger, the Clubhouse Sammie, and the Reuben were so delicious. The tables were sticky. The restroom was clean and the waitress was good. The building exterior has some amazing architecture. Worth the stop. I will return if possible.

Tragic is the word I would describe for our experience. Every single entree was bad. The two steaks were soooo over cooked it was laughable for a chop house. The croissant for the sandwich was so hard a knife could barely cut through it. The chips were somehow crunchy and chewy at the same time and so cold they seemed old. The salmon was over cooked but at least edible compared to the rice it was on top of which was insanely salty it was inedible. my waitress took my glass to refill my drink instead of brining a pitcher or a new cup- this has issues for cleanliness because she brought my cup back to a different table (the only other table in the place mind you) and once she realized minutes later brought it to my table. That’s when we realized the lipstick on the cup, which I wasn’t wearing. I never saw the lady at the other table touch that cup so either I was brought a dirty cup the second time or it was dirty from the beginning. Unacceptable. Lastly the entire kitchen crew and wait staff were at the bar together, watching football, chatting, on their phones and best of all taking shots on the job in front of customers. It was baffling.

Its a great place to eat a good sandwich. The rueban was really meaty and cooked perfect. The crab cake actually had lumps of crab. I was totally impressed. The waitresses and chef were friendly and the place was decorated perfect for the area. Definitely worth the ride..

This was one of the worst experiences. I waited for over an hour for the food to come out. The stake was overcooked, and I never received the bake potato. Then the manager said she would discount the bill she couldn’t even add instead of discount she added extra to my bill. So if you by chance stop at the (Chop) good luck and dubble, check your bill.

This was our 3rd visit. Each time the experience has gotten worse. We decided to give this place another try since we were staying so close by. We wished we had just driven out of town to eat by the time our evening was over. Waitress forgot to bring items, it took forever to get ANYTHING….even just a draft beer. If the place was packed this would be understandable…but it wasn’t, when we arrived we were only the 3rd table of people there. Was over an hour before we received food…even then some of our party didn’t get all of their meal. One person in our party’s food was MIA he had to ask the waitress where it was after some of our party had already finished their meal! She obviously forgot to put his order in or the kitchen made a big blunder. This is a beautiful place but I’m afraid the staff is costing the owner(s) business/money. All 3 of the other restaurants in town were closed on this day on a holiday weekend, this establishment should have been packed. My guess is the people from the area choose to go somewhere else. This is exactly what we will do non our return trips to the area!

Drove from Richlands Va to Tazwell and dined at the Old Va Chophouse. When you enter the restaurant the atmosphere is warm and reminds me of a lodge. They also have a full bar. My friend and I had a steak sandwich and a cocktail which was excellent but that’s because it was late lunch. They also have a great variety of dinners including steaks and seafood. If your visiting Tazwell Va this is a great place to go. Great meal, friendly staff, and a meal at a great price. I will definitely return

Everything was awful. 4 in our party. Food was brought 1 person at a time with 10 to 20 minutes before the next was served. Appetizers deep fried burned and hard as rock. Steaks flavorless and tough. Chicken Alfredo a greasy mess. We had 1 mixed drink. Watered down and awful. No actual bartender. Music was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation over dinner unless we yelled. We chose a restaurant to have a nice visit. Not a club with overly loud music, indifferent staff and horrible food.

We were in town at an event and went there a few times to eat over the weekend. 5 stars. The food specials we had were absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Live music on Thursday was a good time too. Highly recommend

Let me first start out by saying our waiter wore many hats…he was waiter, bartender and cashier!! So he gets 5 stars ⭐️. The food…not so good! The meat was way overcooked!! The most disgusting thing was the flies and I mean flies!!! We were seated inside and were constantly swatting them away.
