Went here for lunch today. They have some pretty creative names for their sandwiches. My wife and I split a sandwich because we weren’t that hungry. Well, the sandwich was enormous! It rivals the size of the sammies that The Stage and Carnegie delis served back in the day. It was also really good. Not much choice for chips or sides, but it served it’s purpose for us. Also, there’s no place to sit eat other than benches outside and it takes a while to get your food, but sitting outside watching the world go by is interesting.

Ordered a turkey sandwiches for our car ride back home and they were amazing! My only regret is not ordering them at the beginning of our vacation. Can’t wait to go back and have another. Service was great and quick.

TLDR: they baited us into buying with false prices and modified the order to make us pay 2x the price per sandwich. The owner then talked down to us and told us to leave even though I was being nice.

I have nothing bad to say about anything in Maine or it’s people, but this place is by far one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. Ordering at the counter, I asked the gentleman a question about one of their sandwiches to clarify there was not an ingredient my son would be allergic to. He in turn went to the cook to clarify what was actually in the sandwich in to which the cook replied “tell her to go read the menu outside”. Next, my son went to grab two waters from the cooler and he was mumbling “what’s that kid doing?” in a very rude manner. I felt badly for the young man working at the cash register as he was just trying to be helpful but the cook (if you would even call him that) was by far THE rudest man I have ever met in Maine or anywhere for that matter. If that were my son working for that man, I would immediately demand he quits! No one should work under such a rude man. I cancelled my order as soon as he mumbled at my son for picking out two waters. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone simply for their rude and unkind service. What a pity a prime spot like that is being taken up in Kennebunkport with such rude and disrespectful service.

If I could put zero stars, I would. This is my first ever bad review. Old salt is an old jerk with extremely limited options and absolutely grumpy service all around. Maine is full of wonderful, loving people with amazing food and experiences. Old Salt’s Pantry should learn some customer service etiquette. They seem to forget they are in the service industry. Keep walking past this gut wrenchingly awful place… You’ll be thankful you did!!

Stopped in with my wife after getting caught in a rain storm while strolling in Town. Ordered up a corned beef sandwich for me and fresh turkey for her, grabbed a couple icy cold adult beverages. Sammies were ready in 10 minutes and we both agreed these were the best we’ve had in years. Seriously NYC deli rivaling sandwiches, and quick. Great little spot, we WILL be back.

Hands down the best lobster rolls in Maine!! 1 lb. of fresh lobster overflows the toasted bun with light mayo, lettuce, and a fresh lemon wedge too. Absolutely delicious!! Quick & fast, great place to grab lunch on the way to the beach or before heading out on the water. Our kids love the PB & Fluff option too.
