Our friends selected old major because they are very transparent about where they source their organic meats. as soon as you walk in, you can tell the place has really thought out the entire experience. It’s not a big place, so the table placement is very intimate. Our server Chris was very attentive and polite. we ordered some oysters that didn’t come out and they were very professional and took care of it right away. The whiskey / bourbon selection is impressive for being an non southern State. Minimal but excellent draft selections. Classic cocktail menu. They specialize in the pig, but we sampled just about everything we could manage to fit in our stomachs. The seafood was delicious, the cauliflower Caesar was something special and the nose to feet dish with superb. I have to say the wagyu stole the show though.

I can’t say anything but good things about Old Major. The food is excellent. The farm to table or locally sourced ingredients I admire a lot. Then there’s the background of the chef-owner. I could go on for a while.

My wife and I tried to go here during Denver restaurant week (accidentally). That was a mistake (way too busy), so we came again a week later. Much better!

We came here during restaurant week and this place did not disappoint. The food was fantastic! I had the braised lamb in polenta which was so smooth, tender, and flavorful! Every bite was amazing. Cool atmosphere and servers were really nice. Overall a must visit

If you are looking for your standard trendy LoHi fare, this restaurant fits the bill. The decor is farmhouse/rustic style, complete with a shiplap wall. It is a nice spot for a business meeting or brunch. The food is good, but maybe not spectacular for my taste. They have some healthier options, along with comfort foods. It is a comfortable atmosphere and pleasing environment.

What an experience! So comfortable, yet stylish. Our server was quick, shared his favourites without being asked, and kept us smiling throughout. The ham and biscuits appetizer was perfect, light fluffy biscuits flavored with cheddar surrounding thinly sliced ham that was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. My wife’s hanger steak was cooked perfectly, and seasoned just as well. The “Nose to Tail” entree was equally impressive, with a house-made sausage, well rendered belly meat, crispy pig ears, and a rib that made my day. The oysters were easily the best I’ve had in Denver. A butterscotch pot de creme with the best shortbread cookie ever rounded out our meal. We will be back.

Excellent good and service in a nice, laid back setting. Brunch is top-notch, with several solid choices on the meat-heavy menu. The chicken and waffles are great, but the shrimp and crab scramble was better. The pork fat fries might have been the best thing on the table though. Perfectly cooked, outstanding flavor from the pork fat, and goat cheese crumbled on top. Great coffee. Bottomless mimosas (4 different kinds) for 1.5 hours. Good bloody Mary as well (3 different choices of toppings). One of the best brunches in Denver.

Had a delicious dinner last night when my cousin was in town. I read a description calling it a “carnivore’s nirvana” and had to check it out. OMG. The description was spot on. The meat and cheese plate was amazing. We at a rabbit bucatini for a second course, also amazing. We had ordered 2 of the 3 main courses, the nose to tail and scallops photographed below. Everything was well balanced, excellently played, and high quality. Worth every penny.

A sensational night of al fresco dining. We had many wonderful things from the Shared Plates side and the Colorado Berkshire pork chop was epic. Burger for an appetizer, naturally. Chef Justin Brunson is a mensch.

Old Major is a solid restaurant in the Highlands that has a nice selection of (very) crispy chicken sandwiches during lunch. I got the Nashville Hot, and while I don’t think it was that spicy, it definitely had good flavor. I personally think the food is a bit pricey ($12 for a small chicken sandwich with no fries at lunch, $5 for fries) but it isn’t so much so that this isn’t a restaurant worth checking out.
