Been driving by this place for 6 months and finally stopped in. Ample parking, busy during lunch but staff r very friendly and helpful. U need to fill out a “ticket” with your order, per sandwich – but the staff help as needed. We got the full sandwich combo which includes a cookie, chips, and soda. For two grilled sandwiches (Ruben and French Dip) it was $18 – the fresh bread makes the meal! We also got some pastries, my favorite was the scone!

Great place to have a scone for breakfast. They also have fresh bread daily. Plus, they have a dining area, a soda machine with free refills, and clean bathrooms. They have delicious sandwiches and amazing brownies (chocolate with mint frosting, pumpkin chocolate chip with cream cheese frosting, and one other).

This place keeps it simple yet delicious. I love the food, the price has remained affordable throughout inflation. The only thing they lack is friendly customer service. Their staff all speak so quietly as if they’re afraid to speak up and try to build a rapport with customers. No hi how are you, etc. Everyone I’ve dealt with is just so quiet, shy, & timid… other than that, love the place!

I ordered the #3 which is a full sandwich, a bowl of soup and a drink. I got the grilled turkey, bacon and pesto, hold the pesto. I also got the cream potato soup and a caramel latte for my drink. But since I was at Old Grist Mill I also bought two loaves of the delicious bread! The amazing Country White bread, and the Cinnamon Drop bread yummy isn’t the word for how great my meal and my bread was! The only thing that I would comment is that their Cream of Potato soup is on the bland side so I personally had to add salt and pepper to it and some cheddar cheese.

Poor and slow service, this establishment lost our business. The employees forgot the meat on my sandwich and toppings on my wife’s sandwich. Went up to ask for my meat and they had to dig through the basket of tickets to find mine to confirm our selections. If they weren’t focused on their friends opposite the counter or the obnoxious music playing over the speakers, they might’ve been able to make a simple sandwich. ~6:00pm, 7/10/2023.

Easy location and parking. Clean shop with friendly and helpful staff. Their Soups are my favorite, tomato bisque and clam chowder, both with saltiness crackers. Half a sandwich completes the meal.

Update to my review: while still great food, they lose stars from me for customer service. I don’t like mayo (I know, crazy, right? ). For nearly 15 years they have been willing to put butter on my sandwich. The last few times in, they tell me they don’t have butter and that if I want it on my sandwich, I need to go to the butter tub next to the soda machine, disassemble my sandwich, pick up the knife off of the counter, and butter it myself. It’s 10 feet from where they are making my sandwich but they refuse to. Take a few steps and do it. Or, since there are enough people that want butter that they leave a tub out, maybe keep some behind the counter on the line…

This is my 2nd time at this Old Grist Mill and I am still satisfied with how great the service is and how delicious their sandwiches and soup. Can’t wait to go back again and try their other sandwiches and soup. Their bread is really amazing. Social distancing is being practiced at this store and their store is very tidy and clean. OGM has always been a favorite in our family. It’s nice to get a sandwich and soup on a rainy day. My biggest complaint is the service. As the years have gone on the service has progressively become lacking. We usually go mid afternoon so it’s teenagers that are running the place by that time. You can’t expect a lot from them, but sometimes it’s nice to be surprised. One will take your order then all of them will sit and have a conversation before they start to get your food. They are slow and there is always something wrong with the order when we get it. (Maybe if they focused for a second.) It’s hard to miss when you are the only customer, and this isn’t just once… it’s every time we go in.
