My fiance and I went here about 1.5 years ago and, to this day, we still rave about our experience here. Food was great, staff was so pleasant, funny, and good natured. The view was amazing at sunset and overall our experience was unforgettable!!

Very nice atmosphere. A little expensive, but you’re paying for a great view of the lake. Had a lobster roll, it was very good with a LOT of lobster meat in it. Very little parking lot, larger lot across the street, a narrow alley / driveway to get to the restaurant.

We took the ferry over to Essex NY for our anniversary. We thought it would be nice to have a n early supper. The place is right on the water and has a great view of the VT green mountains. Our wait person was great the view was great. The food was sub par. made the trip not worth the effort.

Absolutely fabulous place to sit close to the water. Let the kids play in the sandbox with the toys and enjoy a drink. Yet, beware of the food. That was by the far the most disappointing meal we had on the New York Champlain side. DO NOT order the $32!! Lobster Roll. As a Chef myself, i would be mortified to serve that thing. The most expensive and worst lobster roll I’ve EVER had. Dry “Brioche” bun and literally dry tiny bit of lobster. I understand overhead and ingredient costs have gone up. Then don’t force it and serve this atrocity of a dish. Even our fish and chips came out soggy. And all the fries are breaded (a cheat). Everything we had could have used salt.

Went to the Old Dock House & Marina on Sunday night with family after a reunion on Saturday. I was the DD so didn’t drink buy my wife said her Margarita was about 2 star. The wait for a table was minimal and the wait staff was all right. I had the Salmon ordered a little under medium rare. The Salmon was charred black on the end and dried out beyond eating. The rice was something that was kept in a pan all day and then scraped out to be served as a bed for the fish. Stuck together in clumps and very hard and crunchy. Everyone else’s food was not as bad as mine so I was the only one who was disappointed with this evening meal. Will probably not go with the family next year for the Sunday dinner.

We ate here last night with our dog and had an exceptional time. The views were amazing and the service was excellent. Every one was incredibly nice and friendly and very accommodating for dogs. The food and drinks were good. It was exactly what we were looking for to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake.

The enigma that is The Old Dock continues. No matter who the owner, they never seem to get it completely right. The first time this summer I left after an hour waiting despite there being a dozen or more available tables. Last night, took forever again, but wings and cauliflower appetizer were great. $32 lobster roll came out with less than a French fries worth of lobster, when I returned it, it came back not much better and tasteless, ugh, such potential, but I’m done for now….

Great spot on the shore of Lake Champlain. Breathtaking views of the lake and the Green Mountains of VT. I was lucky enough to get a table right on the water and soaked it all in. My waitress was INCREDIBLY attentive despite how busy she was (Caryn). I ordered the Caesar salad and had it topped with grilled chicken. It was good enough. Chicken was grilled well, but tasted like bottled dressing and boxed croutons. My table neighbor ordered a lobster roll that looked awesome! I will definitely go back … beer’s cold and the folks are nice. A few cute shops close by and a lovely drive from Plattsburgh along the lake.
