The journey began in 2003 during our travels throughout the Carolinas. It was there we discovered True Q in what was know as “The Cradle of Q” — famous four decades-old recipes, smoked in small roadside shacks by second and third generation pitmasters.
We learned the low-n-slow secret to great barbecue and brought that rich tradition north to share with family and friends.

Went with the chicken platter, I figured it would be a bigger portion than the $7 sandwich. WRONG! $10.50 for a very very small portion of chicken. It was good but come on! Mac & cheese was half warm & half cold, it sucked!

We chose Old Carolina for our wedding because of previous positive experiences at others’ events and they did not disappoint. They were very flexible as we changed plans last minute due to weather. The staff were all delightful and hard-working. They were careful to accommodate a celiac bride and other guests with food allergies. 10/10 would recommend for any event.

We decided last minute to use old Carolina for catering for my wife and I’s wedding and I promise you will not be disappointed with them! Joseph was the lead guy and was super flexible, full of joy, very helpful and calm the entire time. On the day of the wedding he just did his thing and kept us from worrying one bit. I have recommended them to all of my friends. The food was marvelous!!!

Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile! For being a chain restaurant, it sure feels like a local, small-town place. And the food is always flawless. I am so glad we have one here in Orrville!

A delicious treat from the south. Authentic smoked meats to select from. A favorite is the pulled pork and sampling all of the six bbq sauces. They are all delicious and I love the spiciest one! French fries are also perfect. The baked bean have meat and a tangy flavor.

Love the down-home atmosphere. The fries are made fresh everytime, the meat is always hot and tender. Even the chicken tenders are hot and juicy! It’s definitely worth it. The staff is very friendly, patient, as well as speedy in their services. They bring your food to your table, so all you have to do is get your drinks and sauces. There are two TVs in the main dining area where they always have a sports game, usually basketball or football. During the colder months, they have a beautiful fireplace they keep lit to create a cozy dining experience as you watch the snow or rain from their windows. During the warmer months, you can eat on their spacious patio.

We had a really good experience here. Service was fast and really friendly. Food was delicious. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because they were out of CO2 for the pop making all the pop flat. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.
