Do yourself a favor- bring your own food if you stay at Ojo Caliente spa. The food quality went downhill in the last 3 years, but prices went uphill and quite significantly- inflation, you say?. We were there last week- fajitas were rubbery and tasteless, beef lacked basic seasoning, pasta was cold and don’t me even start about cocktails- absolutely not worth any money. The menu had not been updated at least for 4 years. Spa and pools are wonderful, but avoid the restaurant.

We had the best dining experience over the course of our two-night stay at the hotel. This was because of the fresh, delicious food and exceptional service from Mateo.

After a great afternoon at the spa soaking away the stresses we were able to grab a bar table as all the reservations on a Fall Saturday evening were taken. Great waitress. Very attentive! Had the poblano fries which were amazing as was the beet salad. For dinner I had the chile rellenos. This entree was a little surprising in delivery. It was probably what my body needed, as in nothing fried but it wasn’t really what I wanted which was a deep fried Chile relleno with lots of melted cheese and sour cream…and that is not what you get. The Chile pepper was cooked but still crunchy. The molle sauce was spicy. The quinoa and corn side was tasty. The meal was nicely presented and filling but not quite what I was looking for.

We ate the breakfast here. Was alright nothing great. The steak had no seasoning salt, garlic, pepper..nothing. was also over cooked when I asked for medium rare. The french toast was good tho. I’d say take a 20 min drive and eat somewhere cheaper

Do yourself a favor. Do not spend the outrageous price on this restaurant. Just bring your own food. So disappointed on a wonderful day. The food is not worth the price. Rice was under cooked and not seasoned. RiceoRoni maybe? It was hard and chalky in the center. A little taste would’ve prevented it going out. No seasoning on both our entrées. Needs salt at the minimum. Honestly a little salt goes a long way. Both our drinks were very under expectations. Margaritas = rubbing alcohol. Service was excellent tho. If you want to be dissatisfied and disappointed spend the $100 bucks on the entrees and then go soak your dissatisfaction in the pools. That’s why you are there. Not the food. Trust me.

Visited there on Mother’s Day. Sad to say but all of our plates came to our table cold. I had the filet as did my husband. The meat was very poor quality and was drenched in sauce.

I’ve never had a bad meal here in over 8 years. I love the farm to table meals and fresh well-thought-out flavors. HIGHLY recommend the restaurant!! However, get your reservation in advance for popular times on the weekends.

We came 3 times while on our stay. Food is pricey, quantities are ok but taste is good. Kitchen and staff were extremely slow and always forgetting things for us.

Loved both the atmosphere and the food. A portion of the dishes were served cold but it didn’t ruin the overall experience. Not sure about consistency since we only visited once.
