Everything was absolutely amazing. We had a total out of body experience with each bite, the food and deserts are totally off the rails! Best restaurant in Vermont in my opinion, the steak was top notch, all the food was great, pricey but worth it especially once. Highly recommend it for the area!

Less than pleasant dinning experience overall. Staff was great, food was good. Extremely hot in the dining area and left early due to it. Pricing is a bit high for the quantity and presentation received. I Ordered scallops and caviar for $34 which included 5 scallops and a few caviar eggs. Great food but my table was served after an hour of waiting, I didn’t receive my plate until 30 minutes after the rest of my party without my entrees. My son and I had to leave before we were served and took it to go due to it being roughly 80-85 degrees inside. After a $400 bill for 5 people I’d expect this establishment to be able to afford an ac condenser, or maybe even a box fan. My family has been going to one federal for over 10 years with great experiences. we were excited to experience the new ownership/management and everything that comes with it but after this endeavor, we probably should go to nellys and dodge the bar fights in their air conditioned establishment. this is the most entitled and snooty thing I’ve ever written, I swear im not a flat lander 😉

A friend and I dined at Off The Rails this evening for the first time. We made a reservation for 4pm and were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant. We started with a couple cocktails off the menu – the Raspberry Margarita and Perfect Paloma – both of which were delicious. Next up we ordered the crispy harissa glazed wings to share. If you’re a chicken wing fan, these are a must-try. Sauced up something fierce but still crispy skinned and wicked juicy with bold flavor. Best wings I’ve had in a very long time. For my main course I had the VT Piggy Flatbread. This was by far the best wood fired pizza I’d ever had, (and that’s saying a lot, as Bluestone in Waterbury was my go-to restaurant before it closed – if you know, you know). To me, a pizza is truly exemplar when you take a bite of just the crust – no toppings or goodies with it – and it’s got the perfect combination of wood-fired crispy, soft squishy dough and smooth flavor. This pizza had it all: pork belly, baked brie, pickled onions, apple, bacon, cheddar and maple syrup. A beautiful creation. Throughout the course of our dinner I also tried the Coconut Mojito and Bees Knees made by our very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable bartender, Lena. This was truly a meal to write home about. If you’re On The Fence about Off The Rails, consider this your sign to give it go. To the Owner & Chef, Shawn, and GM, Katie, cheers to you both. What a beautiful addition to the town – you should be proud. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

Will start with the good. Dry rub wings were great and the blue cheese was not chunky which went well with the wings. Fries were delicious and came out hot. The calamari was undercooked and a pale yellow, dipping sauce was good. The burger was okay, however the pork belly on it was grey lacking any flavor or texture. Mushroom risotto was okay. To top it off there was no air conditioning and it was very humid. It was hotter in the restaurant than outside.

Enjoyed an excellent dinner at Off the Rails on Saturday. It was busy with patio opening night, but we enjoyed sitting at the bar and listening to the live music while waiting for a table. It is a great setting inside and out. The staff was hustling and attentive despite the crowd. Even if the bar service had not been so friendly and the beer menu so enticing, the food would have been worth the wait. The trout was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and the portion was huge! The entree was so delicious and satisfying it didn’t need sides, but the risotto and collard greens were too good to skip. Cocktails were excellent as well, with some unique and thoughtful options that were well executed and served quickly. We left happy and stuffed, and looking forward to another visit.

Best dining experience in Saint Albans. The servers were extremely friendly and thoughtful. They were also great about making recommendations on the menu and brought out our food very quickly. We ordered the flat bread with sweet corn, Arancini, a BLT, and some sort of fruit cobbler. We enjoyed every bite of it. Will definitely be back!

I’m not from the area, but my friend spoke glowingly about this place. I would have to say that I was not as impressed as he was. Waitress was very nice just not very attentive. The food came out in different stages not all together ( at least 5 minutes apart) with items missing. We waited through the whole meal for mashed potatoes to show up which I refused because I had already eaten most of my food. Other than half the steak on the plate that I couldn’t eat. Ordered the ribeye steak which I ordered medium rare and it came out extra rare my friend ordered a steak medium and came out medium well. This is really the most basic of tasks for a restaurant of this caliber.Didn’t seem like an actual chef cook that food. Quite disappointing. It could’ve been that they were having a bad night, but in my experience with restaurants of this type, you only have one opportunity to impress someone. This feels like a squandered chance.
