Exquisite cuisine served with passionate and capable staff. The menu feels like it is customised daily (I forgot to ask) and the waiters were able to elaborate and articulate the flavours. Flavours were delicate and could tease the taste buds to make you go “ah”. I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in SF again.

We had a lovely time at Octavia. Good food served family style. Some dishes thoughtful and creative…. some typical… all good. Overall, we loved it. Great service, great wines, lovely space with open kitchen. Deserts were spectacular. Enjoy!

Last night, I had the privilege of dining at Octavia, and the experience was truly exceptional. The restaurant’s ambience strikes a perfect balance between classiness and homeliness. The staff went above and beyond, treating us like royalty and catering to our every need with attentive care. They were knowledgeable and gladly answered any questions we had.

What an amazing experience! We did the tasting menu and it was worth every penny and each dish was delicious. The stone crab pasta was probably one of the best tasting pastas I’ve ever had. Service was amazing as well as our waitress took really good care of us. We also sat outside on a chilly night and it was actually just fine. If i had any complaint at all i found some of the wine quite expensive. $25 for a glass was a but much and i don’t think we got something super fancy. But nevertheless i would return for sure.

Fantastic, beautifully thought out courses. Nettle soup with yuzu was a particular highlight, as was the halibut. Desserts were superb. Considering the quality, the price is very reasonable. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return.

New menu printed daily. This place might be easily missed as it locates in a quite neighborhood. But everything was exceptional! A great location for date night in downtown San Francisco. Great wine pairing with entrees. We started out with the house made sourdough, then the tagliatelle, and cannelloni. And also shared the lamb. All were exceptional! Definitely would come back.

Fantastic dinner. Restaurant is really nice, rustic yet modern, cozy and unpretentious. The menu had some great options so we tried a lot: Deviled eggs and caviar, lamb tartar, Asparagues with black chestnut Caesar, rustic sourdough, oysters with hot sauce minionette, cod cioppino, duck confit and chocolate mpusse brownie. All were delicious, we left full and happy. Wine selection was also nice and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Really high quality dining experience. Wonderfully (and thoughtfully) prepared food. The flavours and presentation were both excellent. I had the Chicken Liver Mousse and the Rockfish, both of these were great dishes. The wines were also exceptional (both French and Local). The service was outstanding. If you are after a special occasion place to dine, or just want to spend a bit more for great quality food this is the place for you.

Read the reviews and had pretty high expectations that unfortunately did not live up to the hype. There were three of us and we had the tasting menu with two wine pairings. The bill was 500+ tip. Given that the food was average at best I was extremely disappointed. Nothing stood out except for the deep fried asparagus as a starter. Everything else except for the desserts was mediocre at best. The wines, however were exceptional. What really stood out was how they just brought plates and left them in the middle of the table without side plates. The fact that they couldn’t be bothered to make small plates for each person and bring them separately blew my mind. A couple of the courses were rushed and for dessert they even forgot the wines for the pairing. Looking at the pics now I’m wondering how the food could be so average when it looks so good in the photos. This of course excludes the asparagus, the wines and the desert which was five star.
