I had the “cơm gà Hội An” which I thought it was ok for a chicken salad rice plate. I think the chef put almost one chicken drumstick meat in the salad, or it maybe less than one. Called it “cơm gà”, to me is misleading. Furthermore, I am not a fan of chewy free ranged chicken meat, but that is on my personal level. Somebody likes the chewy and bony.

Came on a Friday night for the $9 special they were running. Got the original bun Bo hue. It comes out deconstructed and the soup is in a stone bowl. Cool look, however, it keeps the soup boiling hot that I have to constantly stir to cool it down. Was nothing special but no bad. I would recommend to try it out.

Authentic dishes with flavors that are closed to those back in Vietnam. Great customer service as well. The only issue I have is they mix the chicken meat together with the bone. So you may have to watch out for that. I will definitely come back to try more stuffs 🙂

My experience at Ocean Da Nang restaurant was disappointing. Upon arrival, we waited for 15 minutes before anyone took our order, and even then, we had to initiate the request ourselves. We ordered Bun Bo Hue, Half Dried and Wet Bánh Bèo, and Sugarcane Juice. The Bun Bo Hue was subpar, featuring only a few small, tough slices of meat and an excessive amount of broth in a stone bowl. The Bánh Bèo was decent, although the decision to top it with burnt fried onions and a large, hard dried chicharrón was puzzling. The Sugarcane Juice was alright, but it left a slightly bitter aftertaste of kumquat. It’s unfortunate that this experience was my last meal in HTX before heading back home. I’m hopeful that the management will address these issues to improve the overall dining experience.

The food is horrendous. They were out of everything besides mi quang ga and com ga. We got the mi quang ga and it was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten this year… The noodles were hard, and the flavor had a little spice but no substance.

I think com ga is very good. $13 for this plate filled of veggies and meat is totally reasonable. The bun bo Hue came with stone bowl, which keeps it hot longer than usual, which – oddly enough we both don’t like – too hot for our liking. But we won’t take any star off because of it, because this is just personal preference, their broth was good and full of topping. We will be back
