I drove 5 hours and 30 minutes to come here and have lunch. I went with a regular who told me to get the Salome. It was 10/10. The guy working gave us stickers and buttons, which are really cool. It was a great place, and if I ever find myself near Athens another time, I will definitely go again.

I don’t really like hot dogs, so I am extremely picky but I will drive for about a hour just to eat at O’Betty’s because it is the absolute best and well worth the drive. They have a wide selection that will suit any one, everything is made when it’s ordered and you get so much food for very little money. Also, the decor is so interesting and every time I am there, I find something I had noticed before. Then there is the added bonus that the staff is always courteous and usually very funny.

Tried this place during a spur of the moment adventure. We were not disappointed. The decor is wonderfully tacky with a mini hot dog museum in the back. There are only 16 seats inside and more out front.

What an amazing find while passing through Athens. The selection of meat along with toppings and buns can keep you busy for an hour. The pretzel bun and the French bun were perfect with the meals that we ordered. The chili cheese fries were very good even though I’m not a fan of their seasoning. As you are enjoying your dinner the decor of this restaurant is intriguing as well and will keep you busy looking with amazement at many vintage Hot Dog advertisements and other items. Very good work on the interior design. There are so many hot dogs here you could go 20 times and not try them all so we will definitely be back over and over to work our way through the menu. Our only regret is we didn’t get a chance to stop by there on the way home. This is a must for a small brick and mortar non-franchise restaurant. See you soon.

I can’t say enough about O’Betty’s! Since moving to Athens County it has become our go to restaurant. As a vegetarian I am used to only having a couple options at any given restaurant and usually the same basic offerings. I love that here I am not limited by anything. Every dog they have on their menu, they have a vegetarian version of.
