Oark General Store is the oldest store in the state that’s still in operation. They have some of the best burgers (if not THE best). And the Pecan Pie–awesome! The folks are friendly, and the service is great. We got there as they were about to shut down the grill on a slow day, and they were still happy to make our burgers. The outdoor dining pavilion is pet friendly, too.

Hop on the “Pig Trail” at I-40 and AR 23. Head north. The Workman’s Travel Center is on your right. Your last chance for gas and a bio-break until Oark Store. Just north of Cass, catch the AR 215 east. This drive is a biker or sports car enthusiast’s candy, culminating with a delicious juicy hamburger and greasy fries served up at the rustic Oark Store. This little store is the oldest operating general store in Arkansas. The “Angry Hornet Burger” is recommended. Save room for pie and ice cream. Retrace the drive west on AR 215 back to the “Pig Trail” and head north to Fayetteville. Enjoy the curves!

Great stop! Good hamburger and ice cream. Service was great. Not a lot of seating inside, but there is a very large covered seating area outside. Nice stop on the bike, nice curves ride there.

Oark Bacon Cheeseburger + hand-cut fries worth a 2 hour drive? Absolutely! And the homemade Coconut Cream Pie, right out of the oven is kinda world famous. We met people from Kansas City, St. Louis, Texarkana, Illinois and Nebraska. Everyone there was raving about the pie they had too. Can’t go wrong with Pecan, Blueberry or Chocolate according to the crowd. They’ve been around since 1890, so I assume they know what they’re doing. And the drive, especially during leaf peeping season is well worth it. And the staff could not have been friendly and the service was quick.

The chicken club is very good and the angry hornet burger is one of the best I’ve ever had. Nothing prepackaged or frozen; every burger is handmade.

We stopped here last week and enjoyed a delicious lunch. I have heard friends just raving about how good the food is and the is the second time I’ve been here. The first time we caught it at closing had enjoyed a piece of pie. But this time we had a burger and whatever my girlfriend had (Shown in photo) but it was amazing. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the fries were spot on. We didn’t have an actual plan to stop here but my oh my it was worth it. They stayed on top of the refills and there are enough things to buy there for any traveler. But the food will have you coming back. The next time we are in the area… totally stopping here again. Fantastic place. Feels some homelike.

This little country store is so quaint that it’s almost impossible to believe it exists in the 21st century. The steaks are excellent, but atmosphere is where it really shines. Walking through the door feels like stepping back to a simpler time. Another neat thing about the place is that to get there you have to be going to Oark, because its not on the way to anywhere!

Wonderful little restaurant tucked away in the middle of no where. Little of bit of something for everyone to enjoy! From souvenirs, ice cream, pop, water, fuel, to freshly cut homemade french fries and delicious burgers! Don’t go past without stopping here! In door and outdoor seating, great place.

What a cool place! Great place to stop and eat if you’re out exploring Arkansas. It’s rustic and charming. The burgers are made fresh and are big, juicy and delicious!! The staff is very nice and quick to cut up with you. There is tshirts and trinkets if you’re wanting a souvenir. It’s just a really great spot to pullover and hang out for a few.
