Have had better at this location. Tonight was not good. Perhaps it was the time frame. I usually get lunch . This time it was an hour before closing. I ordered a grilled chicken pita with lettuce, cucumber and tzadiki sauce on the side. No tomatoes. The chicken was extremely dry, and very salty. Very few cucumber pieces . $13.85. Note: the menu prices on line does not reflect the charges now. Plus, I asked for an extra sauce. This time they were going to charge me for that. Maybe it’s because the guy at the register who I’ve never dealt with does not know me since it’s a young college female there every time I’ve been before. Note: I tip on top of it for take out. I asked for an extra sauce, put the tip on the counter and said do what you want with this. Sorry guys, this was not a good experience this time.

The quality of the food and service have rapidly declined over the last year, and the prices have gone up. It’s not in any way a pleasant experience to visit the establishment, the staff seem miserable. Lacking consistency, the same exact order tastes different everytime I order it as of late.

NY Chicken & Rice was a great addition to the community. The food was decent, and the price was good. Operative word being was. The quality has gone downhill, but the price hasn’t (it has gone up nearly 30%). At first, I thought it was just one order with an issue (I found long strands of hair in my food), so I continued to order hoping to never have another issue. But, I soon found out that it was not a fluke experience, Every order since this order has had issues. The biggest reoccurring issue is the portion size. I have noticed that if I order two of the same orders, they give me one portion size split across the two containers (of course charging me for both orders though). This has happened on EVERY single order since the first issue. They have lost our business, along with the business of all the other students at my college. I suggest you look elsewhere, huge disappointment.

Ordered on door dash. The tahini on their falafel salad is COCONUT tahini. Ruined the whole dish. The portion was a good size, but I couldn’t get past the coconut tahini. It was like eating sunscreen.

I would probably consider this a sub par halal food restaurant compared to other halal restaurants on the island. Their white sauce taste like mayonnaise and their brown rice is nowhere near as good as many of their competitors.
