Josh and AJ were awesome. Food was great, seasoning was perfect (salt was not overused as a crutch). Super Tuscan wine was a great value. AJ’s suggestions were spot on when she asked about our food interests. Josh was the kindest and coolest bartender…great for conversation (he’s a busy man so keep it brief!) Seating is at a premium so be patient or make reservations.

This is about as close as you’re going to get to a “hole in the wall” Italian food spot in downtown Austin. The food here is wonderful ranging from the pastas (none of which you can go wrong with), to the Eggplant Parmesan, to even the pizzas. The space itself inside is very small and cozy. The service is also great too. The one thing that is only fair to mention now that we are in the summer months is that the inside gets very hot as if there is no air conditioning. So if you are looking to be in a very cool place on a hot sunny day, this place might not be your spot. If you are okay with it being warm inside and are craving some Italian food, then you can’t go wrong here.

Amazing Italian place. Very cute inside and the staff is spectacular. We sat at the bar and while watching the bartender make a drink I said to my friend it looked good and she gave me a little taster. I didn’t even realize she was listening to us! Great customer service. Food is wonderful! Highly recommend.

The orecchiette della nonna was fresh, with a nice kick of spice, and was cooked perfectly. Each noodle breaking on my teeth with a tender bite. Not over cooked more under, just right. Although it was a warm evening outdoors in the Texas summer heat, the clouds and sunset rays lit up the corridor between the bullrings creating a larger than life feel to the little patio where we ate. I’d love to return and try more of the pastas and to give the gelato a fair second chance, I thought the vanilla I had was a bit freezer burnt.

Service was average at best. Garlic focaccia basket is pictured. Ate more like a plain pizza crust. Very little garlic flavor and zero rosemary flavor. Alla cesare was spot on.

Numero28 is a good Italian restaurant. The service there is great, and you can enjoy some tasty homemade Italian food. We tried their Cacio E Pepe dish, which was quite interesting as they serve the pasta in front of you using a pecorino cheese reel. However, the pasta was too peppery for our liking. On the other hand, we also ordered the Cannelloni Con Funghi, and it was delicious. Personally, I enjoyed this dish more as it was satisfying and had a creamy texture as well.
