I can not even begin to express how fabulous our experience at Novak’s Hungarian Restaurant was. The customer service was excellent, everyone was extremely friendly. Our meals were delicious, the seasonings were perfect, and the serving sizes are plentiful. It’s authentic Hungarian cuisine, something that’s difficult to find. The decor is beautiful – all from Hungary, and the pastries! I’m delighted that we found this place, we will be sure to dine here when passing through. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would!

A unique Hungarian food joint in Albany Oregon with a cozy atmosphere, several main entree dishes and unique alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic drinks such as a Raspberry Sprite and Lounberry Alcoholic Cider. Plus several unique desert’s and everyday from 5 pm to closing they have a all you can eat buffet version of all there Hungarian dishes and they take reservations. The first chicken item on the menu is one of there signature dishes, it reminds me of a home cooked meal made by grandma! Definitely worth checking out!

We have been going to Novak’s for decades, we travel from Eugene and Portland to meet up for family meals. Their food and service is great. They are only open on Thursday’s and Friday’s now but still worth the trip. We did the buffet for $49 per person but you get an alcoholic beverage, plus your choice of appetizers and desserts on top of the unlimited entree options. It ends up being a great deal and you get to have a smorgasbord of all the menu items. Kids 4 and under get access to the buffet for free. Everything is so yummy down to their house butter. The cabbage rolls, sausage, and chicken paprikas are so good. They used to be located right off of I5 which was more convenient but now is in downtown Albany. The restaurant is cozy but cute. Always a good experience!

I have come here since I was a little kid. Since they were in the old location. This place brings back so many memories of eating with my mom and sister. We have moved many times, all over the country yet this restaurant holds a special place in our hearts and there is nothing like it in California or Chicago. I crave their food every day. Thank you for giving my family so many amazing memories and such incredible food!! It truly can’t be replicated!

The food was amazing, authentic, and filling. The service is like family. HIGHLY Recommended. I recommend the Shepard’s Platter so you can try a little of everything. Make sure to make reservations or just walk in to buy dessert to go! You can also purchase their salad dressing dry mix, it is a well loved gift in our family!

Quite possibly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and personable. They made every effort to make sure my date and I were satisfied with our time there. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. I would recommend bringing cash as it is their preference, although you can pay using a credit card for a small percentage fee. I also had a reservation, so can not speak to possible wait times as a walk in. All in all, this was a 10/10 experience and I only wish they were open more days of the week!

We walked in and felt like one of the family. Delicious meal and amazing ambiance. The family history is worth coming in for. The stop is well worth any detour you may take. Thank you Matilda for giving us such a wonderful time and making us one of the family.

I was very excited to find this restaurant while traveling through the PNW. I grew up eating Hungarian food and gave them a try. The goulash that came with my meal was just like my mom used to make when I was a kid. I had a sampler platter which contained tastes of four of their menu items; a great way to try different things. All the food was delicious. They are only open Thursday and Friday so plan accordingly.

Omgoodness this places is amazing if you are into eastern European food! And they have some American options for the not so adventurous but I dare you not to fall in love with the yummy smells as you walk in. The waitresses are delightful and the food phenomenal. The place is darling refined old country style. The items are fairly priced and the drinks different and tasty 10/10 would go back again. I didn’t get to try the dessert because I was so full and already carrying out food but next time for sure.
