First time here and I think I found my future retirement breakfast hangout. Good amount of seating for a small hometown diner. Great atmosphere with groups of friends that obviously meet there often. Delicious and affordable food that spans breakfast and lunch. I had the sausage, egg and cheese biscuits with sausage gravy with a side of potatoes. Delicious. Came out piping hot. Needed a little salt but that’s a good thing. Looking to cut back on sodium this dish will help. Also ordered hot tea. $8 for my meal and $1.65 for tea. Didn’t feel rushed at all after we ate and was offered more tea and coffee while we sat and talked. Make sure you give this place a try but don’t make it a one time thing. Go back again and again.

Had a nice breakfast, I had eggs, bacon and taters. The eggs were not as ordered: over medium, which means white is completely cooked, and the edge of the yellow just begins to turn hard. That’s why the 4 star on food. The service was great! Atmosphere- it’s a true diner. Small space- lots of people when we visited, yet no wait.

This little diner has been through several owners over the years. The last ownership the food was good but under the current ownership the food has been really good. I’ve tried nearly everything & haven’t been disappointed. Even have small Mexican menu Friday-Sunday which has been very good. From the owners to the wait staff who are ready to serve you in this small gem in McSherrystown, try them you won’t be disappointed!

Met up with family and a friend wonderful mid morning breakfast get together. First time for me, portion was big and they served real potatoes as home fries which some local area restaurants are opting for frozen pre cut cubes which I dislike immensely. Home made sausage gravy a little bit floury but good today. Menu was full of variety of breakfast items to choose from. Will definitely be back.

Food is great, wait staff helpful and friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Our family frequents often and when are children are in town, they always request breakfast at 5th street. We are so grateful for the folks who work there and contribute to such a community treasure.

Slow service…They only care about the customers that come in to eat probably because they want good tips… Others that pick up food wait forever….I was told that pick up orders wasn’t priority….WOW Really!!

I ordered two quarts of Sausage Gravy a morning work meeting and received excellent service!! Not only was the sausage gravy freshly made, it was also placed into nicely sealed containers. It was well worth the price and my coworkers thoroughly enjoyed it!! This little dinner is McSHerrystown’s best kept secret!! The staff are warm and welcoming and their menu is full of delicious food!!
