This may have been a bad weekend to come into Norman Rose because there was a jazz festival and Porchfest and the usual throng of Napa tourists. The service was good but abysmally slow. Like we waited for what seemed to be forever just to have our order taken. The employees were very nice and cheerful and even apologized for the long wait. The atmosphere was good. We sat outside and it was a little loud with a large party in the middle of the patio but it was fine. They do allow dogs, which was not a problem for me at all but some may not like that. The food was delicious. I can’t rave enough about it. After the wait I was hungry too! In all I would recommend going but maybe on a slow day or during non-peak hours.

My friend and I went in on Sunday for dinner , I was the only black person there so immediately I didn’t feel right being there in that atmosphere. Everyone got their food before I did and the staff and people dinning there stared at me the whole time. What a weird and awkward experience. But I’m comfortable being a beautiful black queen. Don’t think i’ll come back there tho. PS to my fellow blacks, might want to reconsider this place!

I stopped just short of giving five stars across the board simply because I didn’t care for the split pea soup. The fried pickles’ french dip sandwich was very good. The server recommended that I get one with swiss cheese, which I did. The service was great.

Nice small place glad it was open later. My husband had French dip he said it was good. I was in a snacking mood I got garlic truffle fries, Mac and cheese and salad. Mac and cheese was a little bland. Finished with strawberry rubar cobbler with icecream very good. There was only 3 other tables with guest besides us. It looked slow then they turned away people because they were closing. Service was really slow had to wave at the waitress who was talking to other waitress and hostess or on their phones. Then we got her attention but it looked like it was a really good story, she had to finish before coming to help us. Finally she was quick when bringing Bill and picking up our card to pay. Definitely won’t be back.

Went because they are changing ownership. I enjoyed sitting at the bar for happy hour. Onion rings were good. Slider meat overcooked. There are better happy hour prices elsewhere.

My wife and I have supported Norman Rose (and Azzuro) for 10 years. Tonight I had dinner at the bar and experienced unqualified indifference on the part of the bartender who just couldn’t tear himself away from making small talk with an apparent “regular” and just ask me “how is your meal?” This basic tenet of customer service was either not important or a bridge too far. As a result, my wife and I will never return.

Came for mother’s day. Food was good. The server seemed new and didn’t really know what options to suggest. Once the food arrived, some of the dish spilled on the table . The server never checked in to see how everything was. The server we initially had, she left and we were introduced to a new server. Ashanti was more attentive than the previous server.
