The handrolls are great! Service can be a bit slow at times, seems like they’re still kind of getting up and running. Overall, the fish seemed to be good quality, the sushi rice in the rolls is really tasty, and the combinations of flavors work well. Good spot to stop for some casual sushi bites on Castro.

This place has been open for a bit and it’s surprising to see it so empty for happy hour on a Friday evening. Definitely sit at the bar so you get your food fresh- the sushi chef is observant and will wait until you finish one roll before serving the next so the nori doesn’t get soggy. Very attentive service by all the staff, decent happy hour options (skewers of pork and chicken with some drink specials), and really fresh, well prepared seafood. The Favorite Set is a good deal- you get to try some good rolls for a discounted price, though the maguro zuke and uni & ikura were my two favorites and weren’t in any of the combo options. Uni was so sweet and creamy. Miso scallop was also delicious and part of the sets. Crispy rice tuna and garlic edamame were great starter options. Lobster was just ok for me- lobster was really well cooked (tender), but the garlic aioli was a touch overpowering for my taste. Had to try the Sakura blossom drink- very refreshing. Skewers were pretty good, though I wish the pork belly was seared a touch more.

Don’t even bother with the classic set. Just get the signature. The classic set are all rolled up into tubes. The signature are the ones that are presented all pretty and fully loaded. For both sets, there was too much soggy rice. We’re still glad we tried this place once.

I visited this restaurant with my husband on a Saturday evening, and we were pleased to be seated right away. We ordered the classic set and the favorite set, and the standout handroll was definitely the salmon sesame. It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, the mayo seasoning overpowered the delicate flavors of the scallop and crab handrolls, making it hard to fully enjoy them.

The fish was amazingly fresh and the rice to fish ratio is perfect! I’m obsessed with the bluefin toro handroll! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a handroll spot in the bay!

Had the experience set ( 6 expensive hand rolls ) and edamame. These 6 rolls were kind of awkward to hold and eat but taste really nice
