this is a popular spot for local Ol’ timers. i get invited here often so i reluctantly attend. the positives are the prices, my negative is the cleanliness. sorry but i’m bit of a clean freak, and i can barely stand to eat here, greasy utensils, walls, etc. so if you just want a cheap meal, go for it. is it worth going out of your way? nope. food is ok, no fireworks. I need to mention that the original owner was a local legend. rest in peace.

Dim sum was excellent, but a little pricey. One of the waitresses who seemed really busy and stressed out, was rude, but not all waitresses were rude. You know this place is good because there were a lot of native Chinese customers eating there, as well as local people. I had gone there at peak lunch hour (noon), so it was crowded with dine-in customers and take-out customers. You can get 10% off if you pay with cash. I spent about $20 today and had leftovers to take home for another meal later.

Aloha all; old school Chinese restaurant that takes care of all your needs. All thier food is amazing and the service is so awesome. The workers seem so busy but when they stop and help you it’s just amazing and cheerful.

Good Sunday breakfast place. Translational Cantonese favour.

Good dim sum at reasonable prices. Attentive staff rotate to bring carts and refill water. You can also ask order your dim sum when you sit down so that you don’t have to wait for the carts to come around.

Hadn’t visited since shelter-in-place took effect and decided to stop in on Memorial Day just to see if we could pick up dim sum without phoning ahead… YES! Even if it was after the lunch hour at around 2 p.m., most of our cravings were satisfied with our requested items available, with just a few of the fried things like taro and garlic eggplant that weren’t. The workers are usually swift with their speaking and moving around, as we have learned you have to flag and stop them whenever you get the chance, but this time the woman helping us was really attentive and suggested a lot of items… i think because they wanted to sell as many things as they could: noodles, hot dishes, roast duck… The sign outside said takeout and no cash, but when we paid and were ready to charge the bill, they asked if we wanted to pay cash and offered the discount (they used to offer in the past). They seemed well organized and had the waiting chairs in the dining area spaced out for customer safety. Glad we were able to enjoy and support them at the same time.

They’re very busy as always during lunch time. Parking lot is awful as it always has been when it’s busy. Which is obviously not the fault of Nice Day.

We have been going here for over 8 years and have been remiss is writing a review. Cantonese Chinese food in shopping complex with a Times Supermarket and Subway. Food is good but not great. Staff can have hit or miss days but it is a Chinese restaurant so I don’t expect superior service. Favorite items are dim sum, salted fished fried rice, mapo tofu and pineapple buns (baked plain and with custard filling). Reminds me of the many Chinese restaurants in LA, San Francisco and Boston Chinatown. There is a convenient takeout window but they use the front entrance now due to the pandemic. We still go every couple of weeks because I can’t justify going out to eat week but I would if I could. Haven’t been to Waialae location yet but hope it is the same.
