Very good lunch place if you are on the go. Huge shrimp adorned the Shrimp Po Boy. Ensure you order it dressed. More seasoning should be introduced to the Red Beans and Rice. For $23, I took home Shrimp Po Boy w/Fries; Red Beans and Rice; Beverage; and Peach Cobbler. All portions were generous. I will be back. Wanna try that pulled pork…..

Celebrating Huntsville Restaurant Week. Been planning to go here for some time, finally made it today. For me, it did not meet my expectations. Four diners, four New Orleans Sampler Plates. Gumbo was thin and watery – was spicy though. Jambalaya was a lot of rice – missing flavor. Red beans and rice was ok, again missing a depth of flavor. Did get a chunk of ham. Sausage was unremarkable. Staff is nice and works at a good pace to get the food out. Popular with a lot of people too – nice lunch crowd.

Wanted to love this place so bad from all of the wonderful things I have heard. Food was decent, ordered what was suggested to me (the sampler), sweet tea was great, but when they pulled a hair out of the side of my togo box and said oh I didn’t see that until now, and still gave me the food that was super disappointing.

Had a meat and 3, and it was very good! I had smoked pork and gumbo, red beans and rice, and jambalaya. It was all good, and I would say the gumbo may have been my favorite. They also know how to make good smoked pork.. just a hint of smoke.. really good…. And they give you a ton of food! Don’t let the gas station location fool you.. and the bathroom and eating area are very clean. I will definitely come back and eat here again when in Huntsville.

This is the best kept secret in Huntsville! The restaurant is inside a gas station, there are tables and chairs and plenty of space to enjoy your meal. The food is Cajun and quite delicious. The Scruffy Special has fries, shrimp poboy and gumbo.

Met a friend here for lunch today. I’ve had their shrimp po-boy before and it was excellent. Today I tried the sampler plate and my friend had the red beans, we both topped it off with bread pudding – everything was excellent! Staff are all courteous and friendly. I’ll have to go back to try the brisket and sausage.

Because we have red beans and rice on Monday’s, the wife is from Louisiana, I thought I was doing a good thing. Trying a new place for us. That didn’t work out so well. Maybe it was a great place once, maybe their real focus is on private catering. It may be a convenient quick lunch spot for some folks, that’s fine then. But for real Louisiana folks that’s want genuine Louisiana fare, they may want to just stay away….I know we will.
