During my recent visit to New China Buffet, I found the food to be decent, though it could benefit from some enhancements in terms of taste and quality. The use of Styrofoam plates detracted slightly from the overall dining experience and didn’t quite align with the expected ambiance. While the service was generally okay, there was room for improvement, especially regarding beverage refills during the meal. All in all, the restaurant has potential, but there are a few areas that need attention for a better dining experience.

A score of 3 isn’t a bad thing necessarily. We need these places for guilty pleasures or when we are just hungry for something. That’s how I felt today. Wanted some chicken and tea. And they provided. AC was weak on a very hot day but the tea was great.

St. Louis Chinese is always a hit or miss depending on the day of the month it seems like. Always try to read the most recent reviews and New China did not disappoint! Plenty of variety, all very hot and fresh, hell we even got a Togo plate of their bbq chicken and beef n broccoli! Wasn’t very crowded at 5pm on a Wednesday but they were topping off the pans with hit and fresh items as people were starting to roll in. We were plesently greeted and the drinks were kept topped off. Hadn’t been there in years but will definitely go back.

I tried almost all of their food and couldn’t find anything that tasted good. The texture of the food was off, too much breading on everything. Almost 0 flavor on anything. And the service was also a joke. They brought me the check before I even started eating. I would never recommend this place.

Nope. Not again. EVER. From plastic cutlery and styrofoam plates and a seat held on to the base by one screw, I was not surprised by the mayonnaise covered fruit. The “crangroon” (????!?), see attached pic, was BIZARRE, with a texture like mealy imitation mashed potatoes…. The white rice was dried out and the chicken dishes I tried were stringy and dry but covered in sauce, as they they’d been reheated multiple times.

I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews! I used to love eating here and it had been a while so I decided to treat him to dinner. No air conditioning, paper plates, we didn’t get our drink and the food was so bad I actually lost a little right there in my napkin at the table.

Small all you can eat chinese buffet. Very limited options of food. No streamed rice in the rice cooker when I was there. Fried rice was bland. Only one type of ice-cream. A small cup of strawberry flavored ice cream. The dishes lacked flavor and they all seemed to taste the same. The fried chicken wings were dry.

This is my 3rd visit. Unfortunately,each time it gets worse. I have a family of 4. While walking to the table we were quickly asked “how old girl”? I guess my 13 yr old was going to be charged adult price regardless of his age(he’s a big kid). The food was ok,nothing taste good enough to rush back for. Drinks aren’t included,unfortunately. When we finished our 1st plate,the lady gave us our bill. They now have paper plates,I mean might as well have paper utensils as well then ♀️. Kids didn’t complain. The place gives off creepy basement vibes. Low lights & creepy bathroom. Will I return? Sure in another 2-3yrs like all my other visits have been. Only to bring kids to get full & a long day of shopping.

The food didn’t have much flavor. We got there right as they opened. Food wasn’t very warm. The fried chicken was tough, probably from the day before. The only dish I enjoyed was the sea food salad.
