Heard so much about this place. Advertised as “Fine Dining”. Made reservations two days ahead of time & dressed very nice for my dining experience. Was seated in back of restaurant by the kitchen and waitress station. Waitresses were wearing shorts but polite. Inside was decorated for Christmas when it is August. Food was okay. Ordered Nelson House Stuffed Steak, which, I had heard was wonderful. Maybe a bad night for chef because it was tough with a slather of crab meat in maybe a third of the steak. Side salad & vegetables were good. Did not finish meal or ask for doggy bag. Honestly, for price, atmosphere and chance to dress up I will go to Ruby Tuesday or Red Lobster.

On the advice from my friend Jeff Baronick my Aunt and I had dinner here. My first time ever at the Nelson, the food, service and casual atmosphere are Absolutely Great. I have to concur with Jeff, They offer among the best food on the planet!! Alex is fantastic, food and drink, she delivers it all! their food, Superb! If You are looking for delicious food then I highly recommend giving the Nelson House a try while in DuBois !!

Wow! How we found this wonder restaurant was on web. You’ll never be sorry when you stop. The food is mouthwatering delicious! The local people were all so friendly. The owner was very personable and helpful with the area. To top off all the 5 star experience hohoho…. lots of Santa’s stopped in to sing and dance for all of us. Something they do every year at that time. To raise money for their food bank.

Delicious food, one of a kind atmosphere, and nice staff. Only drawback (small drawback) was the wait time, roughly 30+ for an appetizer and over an hour for our entrees (table of 2). The time did allow us to converse and enjoy a night out.

We ate at Charlie’s Pub/Nelson House it was 45 minutes before our food was served. The appetizer came with our pizza, because the waitress said the green beans stuck to the oven and had to be redone. 2 tables that came in after us were served their food before we got ours. The pizza tasted like it had chili powder in the sauce. Not to tasty. The green beans were good. So was the beer.
