Your typical small town diner that opens early enough for most people. The food is what you would expect for breakfast, but the service and the small town atmosphere can’t be beat

I want to kick myself for not knowing of this place. I visit Ossian once or twice a year but didn’t know of this place. Wish I has! The food was fantastic as well as the service. Very reasonable prices. I will visit whenever I am in town from now on.

We always get the typical egg breakfast, French toast breakfast, and biscuits and gravy and all of it is delicious. We LOVE this place! Their current hours are 6a-1p. I wish they’d extend the hours a little and decor could maybe use a little sprucing, but regardless, Nel’s is a wonderful breakfast/lunch diner! The staff is always so kind and accommodating too. We will stay Nel’s fans for sure!

I was hungry. I asked what was good and they said they had a special of sloppy Joes and from what i gathered they were preparing them readily. My wife ordered a chefs salad. Being there were 5 people ahead of us, i thought it should be quicker. We sat 40 to 45 minutes and after getting water and ick lemonade for my daughter, the attendant never let us know what was going on or anything. We had enough, paid for the lemonade and left. If at home i could cook a sloppy Joe and prepare a chef salad in 15 minutes. I go out to get an experience i can’t get at home. We went home and ate in minutes, but i was very hungry. Overall not recommended. Go home and eat.

Quaint small Cafe. We stopped in on the way to a sporting event at Norwell HS. Both the Fried chicken sandwich and an omelets stuffed with sausage, cheese, and hashbrowns, smothered in sausage gravy were very good. The fresh made spiral fries were very good also.

This little diner surprised my granddaughter and I. We were nervous to be the only guests. In my opinion, that’s a bad sign. We were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very accommodating. My eggs, ham, hash browns were delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich had a generous amount of chicken. The hot cocoa was fun.

Quaint little place, filled with the locals having their usuals. Small town charm, and some Christmas nick nacks. I had the menu item “Curtis on the wildside” omelet stuffed with sausage, and hashbrowns, covered in sausage gravy. It totally hit the spot for me. Just what I was looking for. Flavor. Better than expected.

It’s nice home cooked meals away from home. Not expensive. All made from scratch. No dough in the omelettes, or prefabricated frozen kits. They chop the vegetables fresh for your breakfast. Too bad the pandemic has hit them and they cannot stay open for lunch. I do miss the daily lunch specials

Nice little diner in the heart of Downtown Ossian.

This place needs an update 100% as does the menu! Paper thin potatoes aren’t home fries and for $8+ there darn well should be food on the plate!
