Waiters were great. Busboy was horrific. It is the type of place you go for the one good North or south Indian dish on the menu and just stick with that. Or for desserts and coffee or a beer. When we get adventurous it usually is not a good experience.

It pains me to write this as we need some good Indian restaurants in CT. Ambiance: The place is really plain, feels like a cafeteria with tables. I can deal with that if the food is outstanding. The food is mediocre in every way and we know our Indian food as I’ve had it all over the world including South India. It took them 3 tries to get my Dosa order right to what i had actually ordered. Cannot recommend

Food is SO good. Out-spicied my Texan self. Flavor, spices, variety. I would appreciate if they could better explain to myself and my kids what is best or have a menu with pictures of everything. The 2 guys here were nice. Thought it was very funny my kids ate the samba last a soup because “it’s so good”

I can’t believe i didn’t write a review from my first time here!!! First time was on about 8 months ago and we have been talking about it ever since. The food is just simply delicious. Every. Single. dish. Was fresh, full of flavor and plentiful. It’s a dream come true for kosher eaters. Consult your LOR but this place is in the VAAD and…when I was there last I saw the mashgiach checking veggies. Okay, back to the food – delicious. We ordered a ton of stuff and it’s reasonably priced. Yes, the service isn’t fast but…it’s that type of charm (and individual care) that really attracts us. Seems to be a family business and two guys for FOH that are working their butts off! Give them a break my fellow reviewers, they are trying their best. I don’t have names for all the food we ordered but please see the pics and come HUNGRY! The leftovers were packed so well and we had food for another two days. Simply amazing. Delicious and WORTH IT!!

The food is so good at Navaratna. We had ordered so many snacks and all of them were delicious. We loved mirchi bhaji, aalo bonda, tikki chaat with their awesome coffee. The ambiance is a little low-key however food is great.

Was passing through the area on my way back to NY and stopped by to get some food to take and eat on the way home. Everything I got was delicious, though the tamarind rice was a bit too spicy for me even though it wasn’t listed as hot and spicy on the menu. My favorites were the palak paneer, paneer tikka masala, and the samosa. Good sized portions too in my opinion, I couldn’t finish one order of the paneers at one time. The leftovers tasted great heated up the next day. My only complaint is that I ordered one of the deserts but didn’t realize it wasn’t in my bag until I got home back in NY, but I checked my receipt and I wasn’t charged for it, so not a big deal. Will definitely stop by again if I’m ever in the area

Visited Navaratna on a weekday and it was buzzing. While the place itself has a cafeteria feel, they make up for it with the food. We expected a delay in our order since the place was packed, but the food came pretty fast. We ordered the sambar vada, rasa vada and samosa chaat first, and everything was so good. We followed that up with idli, chana bhatura and the Mysore mallige dosa. All the food was full of flavor, and the sambar and chutneys had a very homemade feel. Thanks to Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Hari. Will definitely go back. And also recommend!

Went with my partner for lunch, we split the Vegetable Nilgiri Korma. I’ve never enjoyed an Indian dish more than this one. Exquisite flavor! Mint, Cilantro, and coconut curry. Mild in spice. F¡%#ing amazing highly recommended.

Good place for South Indian food. I love their crispy dosa. I also tried their aloo tiki chaat and it didn’t disappoint. But I have had better coconut rice somewhere else. They need to up their game there! The idlu podi was good and their bread and navratan korma was good too. I will definitely go back!

Horrible place to eat. I ordered Malai kofta. They gave me mirch ka salan. Ordered chat, asked for onions, took the chat back and gave the same chat without onions after 10 minutes. Ordered Mirchi bajji, they gave mixed bajji. Supposed to give me naan in the bag, I don’t see it when I came home. Palak paneer hardly has paneer. Al on the same day! Not a good ambience to dine in
