If I could rate the service of the waiter separately I would and he would get five stars. To put this in perspective, I’ve never written a food review, EVER nor have I EVER returned a plate of food or complained about the quality of my food to any establishment. The food however was severely lacking. This was our first experience eating at Nate’s and as locals, we were hoping for a better meal. Out of our group of 4 adults, 3 of us ordered the smoked prime rib. As the order arrived and we started to dig in, two of us had room temperature prime rib and even though we had both ordered medium rare, one was medium well to well done. This was such a disappointment as we are blue collar working class people and eating out is not a treat we indulge in often (once every 6-8 weeks). When we told the waiter about it, he spoke with the cook and returned to let us know we had received the last of the prime rib, there was no more to be had. They did comp the overcooked plate but we would rather have been able to enjoy a delicious meal than receive mediocre food and a refund for one plate. Again, as locals, I cannot see us ever being repeat customers.

We stopped in after a local BB game, (around 5;15PM) as we had heard good reviews from family members. Ordered a couple of burgers that arrived after a considerable wait, no condiments were offered. We had to ask for them as well as a side of blue cheese dressing, mayo was delivered instead of the blue cheese. No problem, tripped on over to the salad bar and snagged some. My girlfriends burger was delivered with nasty brown avocado on top and had to be returned. The first glass of iced tea was day old, the second great.

We’ve eaten at nearly every restaurant in the Verde Valley area, and Nate’s is the best. We go there as often as we can. We love their food (never had a bad meal there) and they have great, friendly service. They also do a great job customizing our orders to accommodate for food allergies. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Our family has been to Nates several times and we love it. The food is great and the staff is hreat as well. We are very impressed that Nate himself will come out and talk to the customers like they are family. On a side note we were impressed when they brought ice cream sandwiches to the National Night Out in Clarkdale.

My wife and I eat there almost every week. Smoked prime rib, Cowboy stroganoff, burgers. All excellent. Prices are reasonable and the waite staff always very friendly.

We purchased the holiday pies for Thanksgiving….HORRIBLE!!! There was some kind of hair in it and gloppy cornstarch?dark cherry~like stuff…my brother’s chickens wouldn’t eat it…awful…seriously, the WORST pie ANYONE at Thanksgiving had ever even seen….NO ONE could eat it. The teenaged boys wouldn’t eat but one bite. So disappointing for everyone. Seventeen dollars is a lot to throw away for us. I wish that I could attach a picture…you wouldn’t believe that Nate’s would serve/sell something so awful. The last time we dined in is going to be our’ last….almost twelve dollars for a rib~eye steak sandwich full of gristle. Cute little ‘cow~girl waitresses’ DON’T a business make.

Ordered a burger, had to send it back it was nearly raw! Not like I had ordered it (medium well) that’s a big diffrence. And I asked for a couple things to be taken off because of allergies and they werent! I had to send it back , and didn’t order anything after that but the waitress still suggested that I pay for it.

Biggest baked potato I’ve ever seen. Sirloin was OK. Wife’s pork tenderloin was pretty good, gravy was pretty sad. Place was really loud.
