Christian and Pamela Schienle, with their son Jagger, have opened Nadine’s, which was formerly Jennifer’s German Restaurant in Yorktown for over thirty years. The Schienle family, residents of Yorktown for many years, have been searching for the perfect location for a sister restaurant to Sel et Poivre in NYC, a French bistro that has been in the family for three decades. With Christian being from Vienna, they decided to create a menu that combines many traditional German dishes from Jennifer’s and French dishes from Sel et Poivre. They also offer a special dish of the night. Nadine is Pamela’s middle name and represents their passion for food, hospitality, family and friends or, as they say in Austria, gemütlichkeit is what Nadine’s does.

The Food and Beer was absolutely amazing, 10/10. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, we waited for our food for quite a long time but it was worth it !

Wonderful food, authentic German fare. Jagerschnitzel was outstanding. My friend got the butchers plate. Equally delicious.

Cutest little outdoor beer garden and really tasty food! Service is also wonderful. We experienced a torrential downpour during our visit, and the staff was in great spirits nonetheless! The schnitzel was super thin, but not dry in the slightest; cooked to perfection. The side potato and cucumber salads are delicious, I truly wish they sold them as side orders so you can get extra!!!

Flavors always vary from restaurant to restaurant but the general quality of the food by its preparation is about the same. I am happy that the owner stopped by our table and spoke with an older member of my party in German. Ever since she migrated to America in the mid 1950’s, she missed speaking in her native language. I was told that the few words shared concerning her meal are something that she would remember and cherish and she was thankful to be invited to a come to Nadine’s saying that it was a very elegant place to eat. I had the escargot appetizer which was excellent, saurbraten and cream brulee. Escargot was perfect. Saurbraten was very tender and creme Brulee was as I expected. The menu is slim as it has few German dishes but also there was an assortment of other fare as well. Should have taken more food photos but the food wasn’t the highlight of our trip.

Amazing restaurant! I tried ostrich meat there for the first time today, it was delicious. My husband’s jaggerschnitzel (sorry if spelled uncorrectly) was great too. Staff was attentive and friendly. Would totally go back if I were in the area.

So, Nadines. A really wonderful place, the beer-garden is beautiful! We were sent here to get authentic German food. Here’s the thing – the food is great. The plates are full and they won’t let you leave hungry. But: It’s not what I would consider “It’s authentic German”.

Love this place. Owners and staff are so friendly. The Beer garden out back is warm and inviting. Lots of beautiful plants around and fire pit. I can always find great things to try on the menu. Last night I tried Pan seared Alligator over tomato/salad with Wasabi Avocado aioli! Yummy. It was cooked PERFECTLY! My entree was Ostrich with mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and green beans. So delicious! I also tried their Hot Wine. Yes, that’s right. Hot Wine So good. Try it when you go!

We had a great dinner outside in the beer garden with another couple. The restaurant and beer garden were very busy as it was a nice night. We had to park on a nearby side street, but it was fine. Staff gave us a heads up that the food might take some time. However, appetizers and beer were brought out quickly. When the meals came they were delicious. Staff kept our drinks filled and were attentive. Real food made with care. I am looking forward to a return visit.

Rarely does a restaurant make me happy but this one genuinely does. The food, atmosphere, service, all incredible. Had the onion soup, venison, and strudel for dessert, amazing. Mrs loved the codfish. And so dog friendly.
