In a city inundated with Mexican food, it can be challenging for a small, local shop to stand out. We were leaving an event at Helix High School when we ran into a friend with take out. It looked and smelled so good that we asked for directions and two minutes later pulled up in front of Nachos. It’s located in an “old school” drive-up shop with a few indoor tables and an outdoor patio with some dusty looking plants. But, don’t let the tired exterior fool you. While the seeing may be modest, the food is excellent. We enjoyed authentic Mexican food made with fresh, quality ingredients and great flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, with even the cooks prepping out of the kitchen, thanking us for coming in. We highly recommend the fish tacos and shredded beef tacos. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

I highly recommended this spot to anyone craving some Mexican food! It was our first time trying their food and we left this place very satisfied. We ordered menudo, chicken nachos and enchiladas. New favorite taco shop! the nachos actually have nacho cheese on them not just shredded and the fish tacos are delicious. Really tasty carne asada and guacamole too. Rice is meh but the hot sauce is really good too.

Great burritos bigger than your forearm. Easily 2 meals worth. I love the California (with either sour cream or guacamole) as well as the bacon breakfast burrito. They’re very friendly as well. Excellent salsas, flavorful meat.

I’ve tried the carnea asada burrito and the surf and turf!!!!!! It’s sooooo good. Sorry Sarita’s, I found a new spot. And they’re not even stingy with their hot sauces which is also good! Price is right, portion is more than enough and flavor is seasoned!!!!
