On 08/19/23, after seeing an STL Jamaican Jerk food video on Youtube, I drove 25 minutes to an Caribbean restaurant on Cherokee St. to purchase some food, but they were CLOSED! As I was walking back to my car, I saw some colorful flags blowing in the wind and I saw the word “Food” and I started walking down Cherokee to check it out. I ended up at a cute Jamaican restaurant named My Marie Restaurant. The restaurant was VERY clean, a nice video with an Jamaican recording artist was playing. I was immediately greeted by a nice young lady with a pleasant smile! I asked her for a menu and she gave me one off of the table (menus are on every table). I looked over the menu and the lady answered my questions about the many different menu food choices. I decided to order an Takeout (2) Jerk Chicken Leg Quarters Meal and my (2) side were the Mac and Chesse and Rice and Beans. It took less than 20 minutes to receive my hot meal and it was nicely priced under $17.00. My Marie food was delicious, jerk seasoning was perfect, the Mac and Cheese was thick and cheesy and my portions were very filling too! Marie even came out to greet us customers too and I thanked her upon my exit! I will be eating at My Marie again in my nearest future.

First time here and I will definitely be back! Food was awesome and the staff was super cool! I had the Hatian chicken with sides of collard greens red beans and rice and my daughter had the coconut chicken curry. For appetizers, we got a couple of Jamaican meat pies. I highly recommend all of it!

I just went to this place, everything was amazing!! I went with my family for lunch. I had the Chicken Okra Gumbo, with Fried Sweet Plantains, I also had some of my Mothers Steamed Cabbage and Mac And Cheese, delicious!!! My Mom had the Jerk Chicken with Steamed Cabbage and Mac and Cheese, my Dad had the Ox Tails with Collard Greens, and Mac and Cheese, and my Brother and Sister had the delicious Chicken Wings! We made sure to thank the amazing chef, while finishing up. 😀 Highly would recommend!!!

Get the seafood gumbo!!!I also enjoyed a side of Delicious fried ripe plantains (aka maduros in Spanish speaking countries). Both were soooo good. The complexity of flavor was breathtaking, I was not expecting so much seafood but also chicken and sausage. There really is no way to describe it outside of you just going there to get a bowl.

First time here, and this was some of the best Caribbean food. Reasonable prices, great potion size, super flavorful. Jerk Sauce is amazing. Rarely find a restaurant that serves baked Mac & Cheese. Everything we ate was just absolutely delicious. Service was great. Super cute, cozy atmosphere. Menu had a good variety of options. I’m coming back here for my Birthday dinner next month.

Me and my date tried the buffet, which was pretty average. The staff was very pleasant and we were the only patrons in the restaurant, which was about 4:30 on a Friday. My date said the green beans were way too salty as was the fried chicken. The two best things on the small buffet that we both agreed on was the jerk chicken and the Caribbean style shrimp. Other than that everything was very ordinary. Not bad, but definitely not great. For the $13 they charge we personally did not think it was worth it.

Nice, quaint restaurant. They have about 8 4-seater tables with AC, and a 75 in tv playing Caribbean music videos. The young lady at the counter was so patient, informative, a personable!! As far as the food, the flavor, everything was great. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because it wasn’t spicy like I like it. When I get jerk chicken I want it to be so spicy I have to stop my nose up to keep it from running. Their’s was too subtle for me. Nonetheless, I will most definitely be returning to try some of their other foods, and see the cashier’s beautiful smile again!!
