We had been wanting to check this place out for a while, and finally got the chance last night. Food was good. Service was unmatched. I had the grilled romaine, duck tagliatelle, and (yes, I know) jelly donut. My wife has the carrot salad, salmon, and sorbet

We had a nice dinner last night. Food was well prepared and presented, although nothing blew us away. Prices were a little higher than other similar local places. Food took a little longer than normal to come out, but we did enjoy. Smoked pork chop was served at a great temperature and well presented. The scotch egg was great as was the gnudi. The cocktails were solid. We would return if we were in the area, although there are better places for the price.

My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine’s Day. We chose to do the prix fixe menu to sample a bit of everything for $70 and also added a wine pairing for an additional $30. I had been to MST before with girlfriends and was extremely disappointed with the meal because everything was over-salted. The server, manager, and cook tasted our food and comped our checks because they agreed.

Excellent experience all around! The food was excellent. We had the octopus app, Papardelle pasta and the Seasonal Pie for entrees. The entrees were next level good.

Upscale inviting atmosphere with delicious food and drinks. I had the pork chop with a side of the brussel sprout carbonara that was wonderful. Our server was spectacular and graciously compensated for a couple snafus with our orders. 2 others at our table ordered the pasta dish and both came out cold which was corrected but still had to take off a star. Will definitely give this place another shot.

My partner and I stayed at the Surety Hotel for three nights, and we only planned to eat at The Mulberry Street Tavern once. However, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were so amazing on the first night that we couldn’t stay away! Andre was our server, and his energy was top-tier. He was fun and upbeat, and he remembered us when we returned each time. We couldn’t have asked for a better or more attentive server. We tried a wide variety of items on the menu, and we were thoroughly impressed by all of it. Thanks for taking the time to curate an incredible experience all around. Should we ever find ourselves in Des Moines again, we will definitely be returning.

Okay, let’s get started. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere- dim lighting, modern, classy, and clean! Great for a date or a cocktail solo at the bar (me.)

Mulberry Street Tavern is a contemporary American style dining option located in downtown Des Moines. Nestled just inside a popular hotel, this fine ding option offers a good variety of American style cuisine. The lights are dimmed and the décor sets a romantic, upscale ambiance.

Even with a reservation we were seated 15 minutes past the reserved time. Waited over 35 minutes to receive our food.
