Mrs. Story’s dairy bar is exactly what you would expect from a roadside soft serve place that’s got hot dogs, chips, and sodas. This isn’t gourmet, this is old school comfort. We didn’t partake in any ice cream on this visit but partook in the footlong hot dogs. The hot dogs are pretty mild in flavor, so I do recommend getting many of the topping combinations they offer.

Small local place with crazy parking when it’s busy. Got three foot longs, super, chili cheese, and chili with slaw. Chili was my favorite and it beats Sonic foot long chili cheese. The strawberry milk shake was the best thing, so good. Get it when you go here.

So why did I give three stars to the food. Simple. I grew up on this place. The footlong chili slaw dog has always been my go-to. But when I order my food and asked for onion. Appear the young lady in the back didn’t feel like putting them on there and barely put any slaw on there as well. It’s truly sad to pay almost 12 bucks for two and get shorted on a meal. Out of my 44+ years of living Ms. Story’s has always done people right by what they order. This time the young lady on a Saturday decided she was going to half a$$ my order which has never been done as many times I have been eating there as this been done. I didn’t even feel like it deserved a picture. But the slaw was not spreader out across the hot dog,but instead slapped in the middle. It’s truly sad to see such a mess from young folks that don’t even understand what history goes behind their product.

Old timey milk shakes and chili dogs. If anyone remembers “Sani-Freeze”, the chili dogs are pretty close and would bring back fond memories. The Story’s and the Hunt’s came into business roughly within a few years of each other (1952 & 1960). Try the chocolate hot fudge milkshake and a footlong chili dog.

Don’t waste your time. Not the same Ms Story’s they just kept the name. The hotdogs are no longer the little red hotdogs. They are mushy and gross. The chili doesn’t taste the same and neither does the shakes!! The peach shake had no peach flavor just vanilla. They have cut back on the quality of everything. Yet charge 45 cents to use credit card.
