Mr. Pickles used to be my hands down go to sandwich shop. The sandwiches were above any others I had tried…well the last 5-6 times I tried it it was VERY below average to say the least. My 6 yr old daughter could’ve made a better sandwich. So I decided to give a few other deli’s a try like golden ninth deli which is delicious and beach hut deli which is also delicious. Well today I was craving a daily sandwich so I went on to the other 2 places I mentioned above and both were closed however Mr. Pickles was open so I decided to give it one more try. To say the least it was extremely disappointed I’m actually mad I paid that much for a sandwich. I ordered 2 and I didn’t even check the other one for my son but mine was ridiculous. 1st of all the way they put the sandwich together was sloppy and there’s only meat on parts of the bread. where Some of the bread is completely bare and the amount of meat they put was ridiculous it was such little amount. It was just basically like eating bread with lettuce. Plus i ordered mayo on it and I don’t know if they forgot it or they just put one little pinch of it. It was so dry thought I was gonna choke.Ive provided pics and I did not move any of the ingredients around!! This is how it came! I will never order from there again which is sad cause it used to be my favorite.

We ordered the Saint, and it was like the devil. Had no cheese 2 thin strips of chicken and even gave us the hardest bread. My wife didn’t even eat it and wasn’t woth my time going back. They lost my business for good.

Worst sandwich I ever got. Big honking bun with a couple tablespoons of ingredients inside. Never ever again. First and last visit.

Looked like an old school sandwich shop so I stopped and it was definitely worth it! The guy behind the counter was friendly and help me out and finally I chose one and customized it a bit… Pastrami and turkey with cream cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard on Dutch crunch bread. Let me say that I haven’t been this excited about a sandwich in a long time! This was really good! The boylan creme soda made it even better! Can’t wait to go back and try some others!

Taste was ok. Ordered a club. They put bacon on my husband’s sandwich. They added lettuce. They didn’t toast it as requested (DoorDash order). My “red potato salad” was not as described (the label literally says white potatoes). They sent the wrong chips. For the price, I’m pretty irritated.

What can I say…Scrumptious. Mr. Pickle’s is your ol’ school hole in the wall sandwiche shop and has never let me down. The sandwiches are a good size. Just 1 and I’m set for lunch and dinner. Friendly staff and fast service. Can get busy around lunch time. Some might find them to be a little pricey (mine was $11 and some change) but definitely worth it.

I had been here previously, twice, and the sandwiches were never great. I decided to try it again today and it was wonderful. Had the tuna sandwich, toasted with pepper jack cheese on white bread, add ranch and jalapeños. The price for two sandwiches, two drinks, and two chips was $34 which seems outrageous to me.

Mr. pickles is a staple of the San Mateo, they have a sandwich dedicated to all the local high schools. All the employees are incredibly nice. Definitely stop by, they have something for everyone.

I’ve been a big fan of Mr pickles not just the San Mateo location but have enjoyed the San Bruno and Daly City locations as well as the one in San Francisco. Unfortunately this experience was not very good. Ordered my favorite which was the Tony Soprano. Have been ordering this for years and always asks for extra mortadella and no ham. Never once is anybody not done it right. The sandwich that was given to me was as if the person who made it had no clue what Mr pickles was or all about. I literally had one slice of mortadella in the sandwich and a few slices of salami. Horribly made sandwich. Somebody really messed up. We left and I got down the block I thought I should check the sandwich because it did feel kind of light. Had to order the same sandwich for my colleague when I handed it to him it was definitely heavier than mine. Pulled over checked it out and of course it was actually kind of scary that it came out the way it did. Fortunately we were less than a mile away so I turned around and went back. They remade the sandwich for me but almost reluctantly. And when they handed me the new sandwich no one apologize for the inconvenience and the fact that they really screwed up. I get it they were probably all embarrassed, but the reality is, it should have never happened. When I was 5 years old my dad put more meat in the sandwiches and when I got from them. It’ll be a while before I return to that particular Mr pickles, thank God there’s many others to go to!!
