Fun atmosphere, lots to check out, friendly staff, decent prices, and definitely unique! Yummy mini potato pancakes (they are more are like a quick version, than homemade ones – but quite flavorful, yum yum!) and red cabbage (I could just eat a bowl of that… delish!)… Maybe next time we’ll try dessert, the carrot cake looks great! Big menu, looking forward to trying more! (And the cheeeeeese! )

What a great place! We didnt time it right so we didnt have dinner this time but we’ll be back for sure. It makes me miss Germany. Bought some stuff from the food market as well.

One of the greatest German restaurants you’ll find in Florida it’s a local Hangout it’s in the Volusia Mall in Daytona Beach Florida it’s by the old Sears store. I guarantee you will love it the people are very friendly the chefs are outstanding they aim to please. Great selection of beer steins funny signs they got a deli they’ll Knock Your socks off. German candy and many other things I could write a book about this place I highly recommend it. If you like beer this is the place to be the greatest German beer you’ll ever have. I speak from the heart otherwise I would not be wasting my time on this review. If I was rich and you didn’t like the food I’d pay your bill. I understand everyone has a taste of Their Own but believe me you can’t go wrong at this restaurant it’s small but that’s great atmosphere you can put together some great gifts there too. If you’re in a wheelchair I recommend staying close to where you enter the restaurant because it is tight quarters. What they should do is take over the Sears and Roebucks store. LOL

I still have half a reuben left as I’m typing this, but I gotta sing your praises immediately. Absolutely delicious sandwich, every ingredient is on point, seriously good. Even comes with a side of potato chips and a dill pickle, which was a pleasant surprise. Waitstaff are very nice and friendly, whole restaurant smells amazing, and the food itself is fantastic. Definitely check this place out. EASILY the best food you’ll find in this mall.

So this is a hard one. Took the family. They got random things. Apparently, the kids chicken Nuggets are really good. I got a burger, but the meat tasted rancid. I could not eat it. My wife tried it and had the same impression. They did take it off the bill. Looking around the “store” there were a lot of neat things. A lot of the packaged food items were expired, but were still for sale. It was our first time going. But unfortunately that first impression means it will be our last.

What a gem hidden away in the Volusia Mall. If you have never been here, it’s an absolute must! You walk in and are transported to a German inspired delicatessen and pub. The bar and shelves are lined with every beer imaginable. They have countless options on tap. The deli offers meats, cheeses and sandwiches. The grill has all your favorites including a long list of burgers, brats, kielbasa and sausage. There’s retail items like glasses and steins. They even offer lotto! Come get away and give this place a try

The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of beers from Florida and other breweries. Great craft selection. Also great selection of foods from other countries. The signs lining the entire wall behind the bar are great to just sit and read. Such a neat little place hidden inside the mall on the end you wouldn’t even know it’s there.

I am torn on this review, and I might be too generous with 3 stars. I have been craving German food for months. There are not many options in the area I live in, dare I say none in the Jacksonville area. I knew of this mall hideaway, but I knew it as a drinking establishment from ERAU friends. Perhaps that is what it does best. The schnitzel was the smallest that I have ever seen. The potato salad was the same color as the schnitzel and equally as disappointing.

Mr Dunderbak’s is an unexpected find in the mall. It’s a great place to stop in after getting your walking done. They have an enormous selection of beer, as well as beverages for non-drinkers. Food is served there, simple, and well done. There is a deli that has incredible meats and cheeses, as well as a number of candy choices. So glad we stopped in -it’s a favorite now.

Had some sandwiches and beers with a couple of friends. The beers could have been colder. And the hamburger we ordered was not the best. However, the deli plate with meat and cheeses, from the deli and the sandwiches the rest of us ordered were magnificent.
