The dressing was so dry I got a burn on my tongue!!!! The mac & cheese taste like Lawry’s seasoning was sprinkled in it. I’m afraid to eat the pork chops. Not sure what favor it may bring.

I’m not paying $23 just for a two piece of meat so I don’t know whoever owns this building. I don’t know if it’s a black business owner but y’all need to redo your prices because that’s not how you gonna get people to buy y’all nasty food. ♀️ Don’t worry girl I found a better soul food restaurant yeah you can either get dinner or you don’t have to get dinner. You can get separate things without paying a $23 dollar just for dinner. I told her can I get chicken meatloaf pork chops and she said I can only get two piece of meat with a dinner and I didn’t want dinner so it’s another soul food restaurant and you can tell them to give you whatever you want without dinner and really 2 pieces of meat. It’s not a dinner with two sides. if you asked me, that’s a rip off. Only a slow person would buy something like that and I don’t care if I’m rich I still wouldn’t buy buy a two piece of meat and two sides for $23. I’d like to get my money worth and $23 dollars is a lot for two piece of meat ♀️ ✌ I can find good service somewhere else ♀️✌

The smothered chicken wings were pretty good. The mashed potatoes were horrible and tasteless. If I wasn’t so far away, I would have brought them back! I had them on two plates. The green beans were seasoned really well, and fried chicken was tasty. The staff were really helpful and generous with portions today. The price difference between here and Southfield is really a lot (prices much more here).

I’ve tried time and time again to remain optimistic about this place. But I can’t! The food is overpriced for it to be of such poor quality. I have no issues supporting my people (black owned) business’s and spending money; however, you can’t charge competitive prices without offering the same services as your competitors. Baked chicken was extremely dry. Rice had no seasoning, and the candied yams weren’t thoroughly cooked and unseasoned. Waste of money. Never will support this business again. It’s unacceptable to knowingly charge high prices and put out terrible food. It illustrates that customer satisfaction isn’t the number ONE priority.

On 8/10/23, my man brought me food from here… He brings me lunch twice a week, and I did not know what I wanted. He surprised me by bringing soul food. The whole meal was great! But the mac n cheese and candied yams were top tier! I NEVER eat soul food from restaurants! He definitely tried it, but succeeded 🙂 I will be requesting this place again.

This place was good for my soul! I’ve been craving soul food and one close to my house which is hard to do where I live. But baby this was it! We had fried chicken, oxtail, yams, Mac and cheese, cabbage and greens. Everything had its own delicious flavor and not just the flavor of “grease” (iykyk)! Great portion sizes. Almost forgot… the strawberry cake was the best ending! Will go back!

All the food was absolutely delicious including the cornbread which was extra scrumptious. The online order was fulfilled correctly including the special instructions. We got 1-Turkey wing w/dressing & mashed potatoes, 2-Mini Meatloaf & Dressing 3-Veggie plate w/ mac&cheese/ mashed potatoes/ rice/ dressing 4-Addtnl side of Lima Beans and ex gravy. First time trying this location as I usually go to the one in Detroit. The meatloaf, chicken wings, dressing, and peach cobbler was good as anticipated. However, the Mac n cheese tasted fishy and not at all like cheese, the collard we’re ok but nobody bothered to take the stalks off, and the cabbage was sweet. Yes, everybody has their own take on recipes but some of the sides just didn’t live up to the Motor City name and reputation I’ve come to expect.
