Such a sweet spot with a cozy vibe. The coffee was OUTRAGEOUS and decedent and the food was super yummy. The Brussels sprouts were addictive and my favorite bite. Definitely can’t wait to come back for breakfast

Morningstar Cafe is exceptional! The food is so fresh and all made to order (so it won’t be as fast as a diner, if that’s what you’re looking for). The flavors of the meals were out of this world! We tried the Brussel sprouts, hummus, caprese, cash wrap, harissa chicken, bolognese, tre burger, chicken Milanese… and everything was so delicious! You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. The chef even came out to check on everything. Great service, great food! Can’t wait to go back and try everything else!

My Secret is out…. Thanks to the Asbury Park Press. I thought my hubby and I found our our secret breakfast (lunch & dinner) spot, and we were going to keep it all to ourselves for as long as possible, but then the AP Press did a feature on ALex and her Morning Star Cafe. My first experience was incredible. I got a direct view of Alex making her magic in the kitchen. If you are from Jersey, then we have all watched people making breakfast. But let me tell you, I was mesmerized by the way she was like a conductor making beautiful music. You can see how much love and passion flowed through her every movement for each dish she was making. But let me tell you about the most important part of the review, for you the reader; YES YES YES, the food is not only delicious, but exceptional! I have been there for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and each meal has been consistently delicious! Another little secret that I am ready to share….. try things you never thought you would try. I had Alex’s Brussels sprouts (I never eat Brussels sprouts,) and I couldn’t get enough of them. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE – introduce yourself to Alex, Sam, and the rest of the incredible staff. If you want something, and it isn’t the way you want it on the menu, just ask….. Everything, and I mean everything is made fresh and with love the way you want it. PS: Try some of the incredible items on the coffee menu.

The food was delicious- I tried the French toast! It was crispy and reminiscent of a donut! The service was on point- friendly, and on top of getting what we needed without hovering. Would definitely recommend and I’ll be going back with more family and friends in the future.

Amazing! I have traveled to dozens of states and eaten at hundreds of restaurants from dives, to featured on TV, to Michelin Star restaurants. This is in my top 3 of all time. Everyone is going to have their favorites for various reasons. For me, it’s a cafe atmosphere with accepting and friendly people, and food that makes me feel like a millionaire. This IS the spot. It’s welcoming, friendly, clean, accepting, and everything you want a cafe to be. The food will make you jealous! It is beyond cafe food and still reasonable priced. Incredible, flavorful, diverse, and delicious. An absolute must! Thank you!!

Was absolutely impressed with this little cafe! My group of 4 people each got one of the specialty coffee/chai drinks and they were all soo delicious. Chicken milanese was so crispy and perfectly cooked, the mac n cheese is something I will definitely be coming back for, we also got the hummus, burrata, wings, and brussel sprouts. I will most definitely be coming back to try breakfast!
