It has that good old American dinner vibe, good food and great service. I recommend this as a good breakfast option. I will need to come for lunch some time.

This place is a small hole in the wall but have good service. Food is good didn’t really like the biscuits but they are huge. Also ordered a side of bacon and it’s the best I recommend to try it. Had a country fried steak and its a big portion size. Also ordered the gluten free waffle and it’s really good and fluffy. A good place for to go hungry.

Cute little diner with great service and delicious comfort breakfast food. Portions were huge and it was a great value for the money because we were able to save our leftovers for lunch! Will definitely be back next time we are in Chico!

If you’re looking good eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner, when visiting Chico, Ca this is one restaurant that surely is a hit. Nice mama’s home cooking atmosphere on the inside or if you like a nice cozy outside dining experience, the morning star is one of the top picks but get there before the crowd shows or make reservations to get in before the walk-ins on the waiting list. Plenty of parking and wait seating with a view of the busy city and park. City bus transportation right at your call if needed. Only flaw is the location of restroom facility. Which is located outside the back of restaurant but it is well kept and handicap accessible. Don’t forget to grab one of the keys that hang inside the restaurant before walking out to refresh yourself. Alcohol (Champagne) as well as many other drinks for your liquid likings. Be prepared to ask for a doggy bag. Big servings.

This place is great! The service is always good. It’s classic dinner style food, but it’s is always good. Overall great place. It can get busy, but just plan to wait if you show up on a popular day or at a popular time. IMO, it’s worth the wait. Your milage may vary.

I enjoyed my sourdough French toast a lot! Came with a whole bunch too. I wasn’t sure what to think about the whole sourdough thing but I loved it! My man wasn’t so happy with his sandwich though, he said the bacon was over cooked and there was too much egg. We were visiting from Oregon so I was expecting it to be really pricey just like everything else in California but it was really reasonably priced and overall I left super happy.

Service was good, the gluten free waffle had an odd taste too it. The hash browns and eggs I think lacked seasoning. But everything else was fine

Don’t get the chicken fried steak. The fried part is not crispy, the gravy is runny, the sausage in the gravy tasted like regular hamburger, and the steak was not tenderized at all. The cook needs to learn what over medium eggs look like too. The only thing they got correct was the potatoes and sourdough toast.
